Trade in old car system

Featured Replies

I visited my local Ford dealer to maybe change car and asked about the price on my old car.

He gave me a number to call and get a price on the old car . As a result arranged to meet at the delaer to have the car valued

Does that mean that in Thailand the old car will be a seperate deal of like the UK will it be part of the overall deal for the new car ie price of the new car less old car +price you pay

Separate deal, the number they have you will be for a second hand dealer that they use. That's exactly how I sold my toyota - but never ended up buying the ford in the end :-)

Yep, all trade-ins are handled by either an agent or a tent representative. Some new dealers might bundle it all up into one set of numbers, but it's not them buying your car.

Hello

But from this second hand dealer you will get about 20% less then the actual market value.

So if you have the chance sell it private.

chris is right, usually they will try to buy your car at a lower price than the market & sell to a second hand dealer .

if they recommend you to the second hand dealer they will also get some commission out of it too.
