Hello All,

we are a Thai company, exporting thai fruits abroad. First time we are exporting in Israel but they need Kosher certificate.

Is there any company in Thailand that can certify us ? Or do i need to contact Rabbi for these process?

If yes, does anybody have any contacts?

I just want to make sure that our fruits are properly inspected.

thanks in advance...

Yes, you need to talk to some Kosher keeping Jews for sure.

Here's a good place to start:

http://www.jewishthailand.com/templates/articlecco_cdo/aid/422395/jewish/FAQs.htm

They run a Kosher restaurant so hopefully there is someone there who can help and/or point you to someone who can.

The good news I suppose is you're selling fruit, not meat, so don't have to worry about Kosher slaughtering methods for fruit ...

TO be honest i have never heard of Kosher and non Kosher FRUITS.

Perhaps it was a polite way to say "No thanks"

Fresh fruits, vegetables and grains are, in their natural unprocessed state, kosher and pareve. They do not need kashrut certification http://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/82683/jewish/Fruits-and-Vegetables.htm

Well, Mazel Tov. I hope it works out. I'm sure there is a good market in Israel for Thai tropical fruits as so many Israelis have visited Thailand.

I remember a mate who exported apples to Israel and came across the same issue, what I recall was he contacted a Rabbi who wanted to see proof the trees the apples were harvested from were 3 or 4 years old he was able to supply picutres and records that his orchard was indeed older. The Rabbi also wanted to know what insecticides were used etc. it was fairly straightforward and he had a nice little earner for sometime until airline fuel surcharges hit.

He did it for around 4 years and only needed certification once I believe not every harvest.

Perhaps ring the Embassy and ask if there is any local Rabbi who can assist.

Best of luck

As far as I know there is a Rabbi in Bangkok.

I met him once in Villa market in the Nana area.

Kosher fruit?

Yes, they want to know if the growing process is kosher also.

And no, it is not a brushoff.
