I wonder if Alois restaurant is closed because its food was as ridiculous as the one offered today buy the one that replace it ?

A buffet with only 6 choices for 390 Thb, they should be ashame to launch a restaurant with this offer !

I guess this one won't even stay open 2 years (Alois has been opened 4 years i seems ?)

It rather depends on what the 6 choices were. If they were lobster, lamb chops, caviare, snowfish, asparagus and rockette salad then it could be good value.

But I suspect it was just the usual sad pork dishes with thick and tasteless sauce such as one often finds at these "international" buffets, and as such I would be inclined just to spend 50B more at the Hilton.

For a really overpriced buffet try the curry one in the basement of Sun City or whatever it is called. 200B for just 4 dishes, each more boring than the others. "2 veg and 2 non-veg" ie only two different dishes, but each comes in two versions: with or without cheap chicken. Truly abysmal.
