Any place to buy real distilled water in CNX ?

Need it for my radiator, cant use bottled drinking water or reverse osmosis machines, must be distilled.

thanks

Battery shops sell it (and often give it away if you a battery from them).

I've got a few extra bottles sitting around myself.

I use it in several machines. I was wondering if a person could drink it. I know drinking it for a short period of time helps to clear the garbage out of your system. Back home the super markets all had it in gallon jugs.

any health fanatics, however, are often surprised to hear me say that drinking distilled water on a regular, daily basis ispotentially dangerous.
Paavo Airola wrote about the dangers of distilled water in the 1970's when it first became a fad with the health food crowd.
Distillation is the process in which water is boiled, evaporated and the vapour condensed. Distilled water is free of dissolved minerals and, because of this, has the special property of being able to actively absorb toxic substances from the body and eliminate them. Studies validate the benefits of drinking distilled water when one is seeking to cleanse or detoxify the system for short periods of time (a few weeks at a time).
Fasting using distilled water can be dangerous because of the rapid loss of electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chloride) and trace minerals like magnesium, deficiencies of which can cause heart beat irregularities and high blood pressure. Cooking foods in distilled water pulls the minerals out of them and lowers their nutrient value.
Distilled water is an active absorber and when it comes into contact with air, it absorbs carbon dioxide, making it acidic. The more distilled water a person drinks, the higher the body acidity becomes.
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, "Distilled water, being essentially mineral-free, is very aggressive, in that it tends to dissolve substances with which it is in contact. Notably, carbon dioxide from the air is rapidly absorbed, making the water acidic and even more aggressive. Many metals are dissolved by distilled water."
The most toxic commercial beverages that people consume (i.e. cola beverages and other soft drinks) are made from distilled water. Studies have consistently shown that heavy consumers of soft drinks (with or without sugar) spill huge amounts of calcium, magnesium and other trace minerals into the urine.
The more mineral loss, the greater the risk for osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, hypothyroidism, coronary artery disease, high blood pressure and a long list of degenerative diseases generally associated with premature aging.
A growing number of health care practitioners and scientists from around the world have been advocating the theory that aging and disease is the direct result of the accumulation of acid waste products in the body.
There is a great deal of scientific documentation that supports such a theory. A poor diet may be partially to blame for the waste accumulation.
These and other junk foods can cause the body to become more acidic:

I suppose the same holds for reverse osmosis 'drinking' water.

I suppose the same holds for reverse osmosis 'drinking' water.

There is still debate about either method and its 'harmful' effects. But as posted above, certain conditions such as improper diet, or water diets can be harmful with both methods.

Reverse Osmosis (RO) removed more than 90-99.99% of all the contaminants including minerals from the drinking water supply (see Figure 1). RO removes minerals because they have larger molecules than water. The subject of minerals and RO created controversy and disagreement among water and health professionals. The World Health Organization (WHO) made clarification that majority of healthy minerals are needed for human body is from food or dietary supplementary sources and not from drinking tap water. In addition, minerals found in water can be harmful to human health. The evidence is strong that calcium and magnesium are essential elements for human body (WQA, 2011). However, its a weak argument to suggest that we should make up this deficiency through water consumption (WQA, 2011). Tap water presents a variety of inorganic minerals which human body has difficulty absorbing (Misner, 2004). Their presence is suspect in a wide array of degenerative diseases, such as hardening of the arteries, arthritis, kidney stones, gall stones, glaucoma, cataracts, hearing loss, emphysema, diabetes, and obesity. What minerals are available, especially in "hard" tap water, are poorly absorbed, or rejected by cellular tissue sites, and, if not evacuated, their presence may cause arterial obstruction, and internal damage (Dennison, 193; Muehling, 1994; Banik, 1989).

I have a water maker on my boat and I can tell you that the water it produces (which comes straight from sea water) makes the best coffee but lousy tea.

Back to the OP: Tesco Lotus. In the car accessories section.

RO Minerals

You are missing the point. Overuse of distilled or RO water as drinking water might lead to mineral depletion in your body cells. Due to an osmotic imbalance minerals could move from the cells to the fluids surrounding it and ultimately be removed via the urine.

RO is a cheap way of purifying water and very popular here, but I never saw RO treated drinking water in Europe..... I guess there is a reason for that. Of course adding minerals after RO treatment would solve the potential problem but has extra cost.

I feel that UV treated water is more beneficial, as the minerals are left in the water, including fluoride, which most of us need in minute quantities.

No need to get into the cranks v. rest of the world about fluoride, as it's found naturally in parts of the USA, where they have the best teeth.

The answer has been provided where to buy distilled water, and another use, not mentioned yet, is in steam irons. Saves the heating parts from calcifying.

I used to scoff about the mineral depletion issues with RO water until I tried Magnesium oil for transdermal uptake. It's Magnesium Chloride dissolved in clean water. The Chloride form is much more penetrating than other topical forms like Mag Sulphate (Epson Salt)

I thought I was getting lots of Magnesium from diet and oral supplements but now I learn Mag is very poorly absorbed orally. Many consider it #1 mineral deficiency and measurement of serum Magnesium doesn't tell the story of tissue depletion.

Completely changed my muscle tension patterns and improved posture greatly as well as cleared up some stubborn skin issues.
