Water trucks, how much in your area?

I haven't ordered any water for a few years, but had to order some today to fill a hole in the ground and I was caught off guard that water is now 500 baht per 8000 littre truck ( although they say they bring 7000 litres) which in years past was 350-400 baht. The well is not more than a 3 minute drive from where I needed water, yet no discount ever came into the equation. This is in the Rawai area.

So how much is a water truck in your area and for how many litres? I've read that in Patong in the hills it can get exensive.

Sorry SP. I can't help you.

Just another one of the joys of renting here, as opposed to "buying."

Don't know, and don't need to know. I pay the rent, turn the tap on, and water comes out. :)

That said, I rent off Thai's, so, I guess they always get town water. Whereas, the foreigners "owning" here, I think the town water gets turn off to help out cousin Somchai with his water truck business. :) :)

I had 450B/big truck 10-12m3. My tanks are only 6.000 liters though. Asked from another company and they told me 1000B/large truck.

Charlie water used to get me for 700 baht per 8000 litres. 3 trucks to do 22,000 litre tank.

Intstalled a rain water collection system and never needed a truck again.

Thanks everyone. BTW, I don't recall ever seeing any trucks bigger than 8000 litres LIK.

I see plenty of the larger tankers running about. They have the double axles at the back, known as 10 wheelers.

In Patong we pay 350 Baht for 2,000 L. We used 4 or 5 different companies, all charge the same. I had to order once in Chalong and paid 300 for 2,000 L.

That's what I used, but the capacity was only 8000 litres. Those 2000 litre trucks used by above poster must be for minimal access areas to cost that much for that small quantity of water.

Meanwhile I consulted staff and accounting:

In Patong the standard price for 2,000 L is 350 Baht.

We have staff living in Patong who order water to their homes and are charged 400 Baht for 2,000 L due to minimal access.

An 8,000 L truck cost in Patong standard 700 Baht.

I pay 700 baht too for 8000 liters.. Delivered to Kwang Road Chalong.

Most of Chalong has good water year round. Why do you have to buy it? Don't you have a well?
