Blackouts

Featured Replies

I'm getting a bit annoyed with the Phuket Provincial Electricity comp. With the just a hint of rain the power is gone. Today 7 times !!!!

Is it only Rawai (Sai Yuan) or everywhere?

No blackouts at our house (so close to you).

Grrrrr :-)

Chalong, surprisingly no power outages.

I did think trees would go with a couple of the squalls that hit today.

Lighst went out couple of times, but that's was it.

This ongoing rain is far from being hint of rain on the norhern part of Phuket. Could be that some parts of the island is flushing, which drops the electricity on those areas. This causes a domino effect (voltage ups and downs), which causes some more delicate fuses to cut the power off?

Yes there were several small blackouts in Sai Yuan around midday, but seemed to have resolved after a couple of hours. Let's see what tomorrow brings. If it's raining. Who the hell knows?

I would , no must, point out, most humbly, that, did it not occur to the OBJ, that, given all the multi million baht domestic constructions being given planning permission, some basic sodding infrastructure would be required also. Or. Were the 'developers' and OBJ completely fcking clueless and thought 'Oh well, we'll just chuck up a few 'mansions', make some money, and the 'necessary' will arrive in due course'? Just my humble, er, opinion.

i lived in phuket for 12 years rawai area, the electric would go off usually 2 days a week and the internet provided by TOT would be down at least 2 days a week as well separately, that would be another thread though

Went off here in Sai Yuan Rawai for about 20 minutes early this afternoon but that was it. And once yesterday I think.

Not too bad.

Who knows what tomorrow will bring?

And would much, much prefer not having power for a little while than having to live in a place like Patong... my god.

Hell, I'd rather not have power for a month than have to live in Patong!

Where do you live - posting at 1 in the morning???

Grrrrr :-)

I stand corrected, my wife told me there was one blackout yesterday, lasting about 1./2 hour.
