Pattaya eyes one-way system traffic shake-up to Soi Buakhao
Are they going back to 2 way in Jomtien? I was hoping they would keep it one way with the baht buses doing the loop. It makes more sense now that the area has been built up with lots condos. -

Danske Bank Account Norway Being Cancelled Need Recommendations to get a Bank New Account
When Barclays closed my UK accounts I arranged for my private pension and state pension to be paid directly into my Wise account and my wife's Wise account respectively. Then I transfer to my Bangkok bank a/c, or to my UK credit union, or pay for some goods/services directly from Wise. However, I have read here that some pension providers will not pay into Wise. -

Story Of My Thai Citizenship Application
Thanks! I found the Royal Anthem more challenging because I don't understand most of the words. The lyrics of the National Anthem are therefore much easier to remember. -

Danske Bank Account Norway Being Cancelled Need Recommendations to get a Bank New Account
Yes, Wise is an excellent choice. If you want a Wise bank card you'd need an address in one of the approved countries, I don't think they send it to Thailand. Not sure what bank account requirements Norway has for pensions, but subject to that there are a lot of solvent and highly protected German banks that have excellent internet banking and with whom you can easily open accounts.- 1

The Thai ETA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation)
So, it's almost like, not visa- exempt for everybody, but everybody now needs a visa (called ETA). Great. I really needed more Thai bureaucracy to spice up my life. -

Rising Political Extremism in East Germany Signals a Deepening Divide
Of course not, but all parties have differing platforms by definition. When parties from the outset deny even the possibility of entering into meetings any form of compromise is made impossible from the outset. This kind of behaviour should be penalised. If the voters counted on the AfD getting an absoulte majority then and only then they have a grievance? Come on. The point is moot in the UK because in May 2011, there was a UK-wide referendum on whether to bring in an alternative voting (AV) system instead of first-past-the-post. It was known as the AV referendum. However, nearly 68 percent were against introducing AV. So the Brits want FPTP and decided to keep it. -

Danske Bank Account Norway Being Cancelled Need Recommendations to get a Bank New Account
I am a British Citizen retired and living in Thailand for several years and I pay tax to both Thailand and Norway. My home address in Thailand is registered with the tax authorities in both Thailand and Norway. I have very recently received a letter from Danske Bank Norway stating that my Bank Account and Bank Cards will be cancelled on 8 November and that I need to find a new Bank. I have been a loyal customer with them for 24 years the reason they are giving for this is that Nordea Bank in Norway is taking over Danske Bank Norway and that my account is not included in the sale and this is very upsetting. They have not provided any other information so I have taken this issue to the highest level in Danske Bank Norway Country Manager also CEO in Denmark) and complained as previously they informed me that I would get a new Bank Account and Cards in Nordea Bank Norway. Can any other Members recommend another financially strong overseas Bank that I could open an account with easily and use for sending my 5 Pensions into (3 from Norway and 2 from the UK) and then when required sending money from this New Bank into my Bangkok Bank in Thailand. Would WISE be a possible good choice to suit my needs and easy to open? Many thanks in advance for any help -

Harris campaign whacks Trump on Labor Day by posting his past worker-bashing comments
Hopeless Harris is killing Trump in the polls, bringing in donations in a flood of cash, and drawing record crowds. Which is getting under Trump's skin so much he is claiming the crowds are AI generated. Carry on dreaming. It's turning into a nightmare for your ilk. -

Do you still see girls in bars which you would consider as girlfriend/wife?
"I go with a friend through a couple of bars in Nana ..." You may need to expand your horizons in order to decide whether there are any attractive girls around, there's more than two bars in Bangkok! -

Thick As a Brick: Evocative of exactly What? I know, but do YOU?
I was 10 years old when this was released and my elder brother bought a copy. At the time i liked the music but didn’t fully understand it, loved to read the newspaper album cover though. Took a few years before i realised the meaning of the album, a parody of the story of an eight year old boy and the poem he wrote about growing up. The band, in particular Ian Anderson, was sick that a previous album, Aqualung, was labelled as a concept album, strongly denying this he exaggerated the concept angle on Thick As as a sarcastic reply to the music journalists. Thick As A Brick 2 is also a great album but TAAB 1 was such a hard act to follow it didn’t receive the acclaim it deserved. 40 years after the original it covers what became of young Gerald and i strongly recommend anyone who liked TAAB to follow up with TAAB 2. So, TAAB conjures up for me some great memories of my childhood and as I grew my understanding of the music grew with me. -

Do you still see girls in bars which you would consider as girlfriend/wife?
I have never understood the term, "a walking ATM". The girls working in bars are prostitutes working for money, and the guys can't find a girlfriend in the 'normal' way ay so they hire a prostitute bar girl, some keep them long term as long as they continue to pay for them, and maybe the girl's family as well. They mix with other guys who also have bar girls as partners so it seems normal to them, they think this is the standard Thai way of doing things. We guys and Thai women who have met 'normal' partners through business or work etc or while at university etc do not mix with bar girls or with the farangs who are with such girls and know that way of life is not at all standard. "Standard" Thai women hate bar girls and would not go anywhere near them. It is no different to the rich Arabs who frequent prostitutes in London, they come to think all Western women are prostitutes, I suppose the difference is that they are not stupid enough to marry them. I do laugh at the many stories I have heard where these farangs are ripped off by the bar girls, it serves them right. I had a friend who owned a restaurant in Phuket, he had friends who owned girly bars and he used to tell me some of the stories he was told, for example, there were three guys sat at a large girly bar, and none of them knew each other and did not talk to each other, they had each been told separately that their girlfriend had to go back to Issan as the father was sick, the truth was she was with boyfriend number four for the next two weeks, they had all been sending her money each month so she did not have to work in a bar as she told them she was now only working there as the cashier. 🤣
