thaivisaservice.com - legit and reliable still?

Featured Replies

Have saw a few old threads (2 years old) in the search results that seems to state they are reliable but just wanted to check it's still the case and no problems with them at current time?

They leave from On Nut every morning to Ban Laem.

Thanks.

Have used them in the past

They are legit

Never had any problems

Used them and still OK, legit, reliable and competativly priced.

Their Laos service was reliable but the one time I went to Baan Laem with them, I was unimpressed. Nobody bothered to show us where we were supposed to wait while the border formalities were being completed so I had to follow two other passengers who seemed to know where they were going. Trouble is, they were both going to the toilet! Not a very professional service IMO - they assumed we had all used it before and knew where we were going.

Thanks for the information.

What was stopping you asking somebody if you didn't know what to do or where to go?

I think they are a great service, the guy who runs it (his name escapes me) is on the ball and really helpful.

If you just ask one of the Visa guys they will point to where to go; it isn't really that much of an issue (look around, go to the casino for food etc).

The only time I've had trouble with it, is when other visa runners phone in and say they are coming but turn up really late, so you're left waiting for a long time, but that's more the problem with the visa runners than the service. And I didn't like the trip to Vientiene one time as the minivan driver insisted on playing a really loud annoying Japanese "comedy" TV game show late into the night, destroying any hope of sleep.

But by and large. they are the best visa service I've used, really helpful, know what they are doing and look after you.

I'm thinking I will probably use them tomorrow so will report back on how it was.

I did this today so here's my feedback...

Driver was good, didn't drive like a lunatic which is so common on mini van drivers. He doesn't speak English however (nor do I expect him to) and there isn't any other staff member there so if you have questions about anything you might not get the answers.

Van is pretty cramped and I'm hardly tall.

When we got to the border we were dropped off and no information was given about what to do next so if you've never done a border run or been to this border you're not going to have a clue.

Once you go through Thai immigration you hand your passport over with 2 photos and it's taken away and all done for you. No one tells you that you what you should do next however.

You can go visit the casino or the duty free shops and then in 20-30 minutes you need to head back to somewhere near where you just entered and wait for your passport to come back with the Cambodia visa but if you didn't know this you'd be clueless.

After that is done you exit back through Thai immigration and get your new stamp or visa activated if you have multiple entry and wait for the van.

Overall an OK service but they really should have someone waiting to tell people what to do when they arrive as not everyone is going to be a regular (though it seems like most people were) and know how it works.

Could end up with a lost tourist wandering aimlessly around the Cambodian side with no idea where they are going or what to do.

Resurrecting a 2013 topic thread isn't the best of ideas.

If you have a legit question (considering this topic was about completing a Boarder Run) please create a new topic.

Rich or is right. Topic closed.
