If Thailand was invaded and thus at war, and needed your help, would you join the army and fight for it if you could, or would you claim its not your country and leave it to the Thais? It's a serious question that I often ask such people and get a less than convincing answer along the lines of '...oh I don't know about that'. All the thai men would run and hide if someone actually threatened them back plus all the rich/politicians would leave the country so there is no way I would do anything for them but I would for my family.
