Have a look around one2car.com to see what similar cars are going for then deduct a small amount (5%?) from those prices to get a fairly reasonable private sale price.

You could call into a Toyota and Honda dealer, and give them the exact car details and ask them what they'd give you for them in part ex for a new car, they will call there local Tent second hand car buyers and come back with a price,

You can then offer a bit higher than that for the car,or cars,as the Tent buyer will be looking for some profit at the price they offer..

I took two of my cars to the local Toyota dealer and did exactly what you suggest. One was a Toyota Yaris S 2006 with 90,000 kilometers kilometers; the other was a 2011 Toyota Altis TRD with twenty five thousand kilometers and one year left on warranty. Toyota offered 250k and 450k respectively. I then contacted my insurance agent and asked what was the maximum amount they could insure. His reply was 310k and 650k. This is closer to reality but tents ask for far more than these quotes. BTW, the Yaris is for sale.
