Anyone know where there is a second hand book shop in Kata/Rawai/Chalong area? I was told the one that used to be at the Kata Country House moved to Rawai somewhere.

Chalong just before the zoo, plus a small one just past icon.

The kata shop did not move but was a failing business.

Oh yes, how could I forget the Chao Fa east one. Probably haven't been in there for 10 years.

Just past Icon going which way?

Turn left after icon and head towards Kata. Its on the right less than 50m from the intersection.

I heard there was another second hand bookshop starting up just after the traffic lights on the Sai Yuan/Wiset intersection. Same side as the 7-11

Correct it's there. The Sai Yuan I mean.

Thanks all. I am still a little confused because when you say "on the road to Nai Harn" or "turn left after icon" it depends on which way you are coming from. I'm sure I'll find them though.

Coming from Nai Harn, past Icon is a curve left, 50 meters after that curve on the right hand side.

If going from Chalong to Rawai, on chaofah road, turn right at the first (only) red light, as if going to Kata the back way. About 1.5 k down, on the left is a used bookstore, run by a Thai lady with great English. She is super helpful and her prices are about 1/2 of the other bookstores. She also takes books in on trade so you can save a lot of money. I have been to them all and hers is the only one I will go back to.
