newermonkey
"Underground Al Qaeda is here!" These ones? Yes those ones... Its because Ex Prime Minister had muslims killed in the south some years ago, You might all need to understand these people don't understand the concept on bad muslim / good muslim, they see them all as good even if they do murder innocent people, if its done under the banner of god (or should that be dog). Its a shame that the only good thing Thaksin did is probably going to get him killed!

15Peter20
Will all those who were quick to label the red shirt movement as communist because they saw some headware with red stars or che guevara t-shirts at red shirt rallies now associate yellow-associated groups with fanatical muslim doctrine? I think not.

I think not. You think correctly as there is no reason to associate yellow groups with fanatical muslim doctrine - just the realisation that the red shirts made an unbelievably stupid mistake in trusting Thailand to Pheu Thai (as they are fast finding out now)!!! Perhaps my reference to gods name being similar to Dog? of course we all know dogs are real and god is not or was it the following; The Arabs in the video said :“You have killed our Muslim brothers in Tak Bai, south Thailand. We will get you any time, anywhere in the world.” ??? Edited October 24, 2013 by newermonkey

I think not. The difference being several of the red shirt leaders have long and prominent associations with communism and associated anti-monarchist views. Whereas with Al Qaeda, we have... a single home-made, hand-written banner with absolutley nothing else to connect them. But thanks for the apples and tractors comparison, anyway. For me, it's that you consider the non-judicial slaughter of people as a "good thing". For a start Thaksin has since acknowledged the esculation of force in the deep South in 2004 was a strategic error that just compounded the challenges to try and get all parties to the negotiating table. The vast majority of the Thai Muslims in the deep South do not support the seperation of the Southern provinces from the Thai State, more likely a level of self goverance in the model of Bangkok & Pattaya, but at a provincial level. The Thai Muslims (good) leading a normal day to day life are reported to be sick & tired of the violence and disruption to their lives. To put matters in perspective a quote from Wikipedia below as well as an analysis from a Thai military officer. "Some locals in the area support some kind of independence from Thailand, while others clearly do not. The national referendum to support the junta-backed constitution for Thailand was favored by a majority in all three southernmost provinces and passed overwhelmingly in the southern region of Thailand, with 87% of the 3.7 million voters who participated there approving it. Furthermore, while those in the insurgent groups support armed conflict, most Southern residents seem to want negotiation and compromise and the rule of law to return, along with an end to human rights abuses by both sides" http://www.defence.gov.au/adc/docs/Publications2012/SheddenPapers12_120306_ConflictinThailand_Nurakkate.pdf

transam
Maybe they don't really know who Al Qaeda are or mixing them up with Al Jazera.. Well Hitler was trendy here for a while so perhaps a wind of change. Wonder if they have heard of ''Postman Pat'' yet...............
