PHUKET: Around 100 casual-wear shirts were gifted to Royal Thai Police in Kamala on Friday (November 1), thanks to Peter Crisp at the Aussie Pub in Kamala.

The aim is not for the shirts to replace their formal police uniform, but rather to be worn at social events where they are directing traffic, for example.

The white shirts have ‘Kamala Beach Police’ written on the front, and ‘Police’ on the back.

Peter, the owner of the Aussie Pub, told The Phuket News, “I didn’t do this for brownie points, or to make sure we are protected.

“I thought it was a nice idea for when the guys are a bit more visible, and they can wear them instead of their standard green uniforms. They’re for social wear.”

Hope the BIB don't pick up on the unintentional (I think) "brownie" pun, particularly as I see in another thread that one of the Thai nicknames for them is Boy Scouts.

Guy tries to do a nice thing, instead of slagging the cops, and all of you guys want to crap all over him.

Good on ya, mate, as they say in your country. (?)
