The bikes made their way through Bang Saray the other day. Same slower than molasses Hoggin up the entire road. They even had police & rescue trucks Looked like when they ran the Gypsy jokers out of Oregon & the Hells Angels in California. Escorts to get the bikes out of town.

They really are that slow. I never lost to any Harley on Beat the heat Wendsday night drags in Sonoma . Even my Honda 750 superfour blew the doors off the Harleys in the 1/4 mile. It got to the point of being really boring. They are wide out as I shift into 3rd gear LOL!

The V-rods are for what Harley hopes to enter the realm of (more toward superbikes) as the ancient crowd is approaching permanent retirement. But like usual Harley is always way late to the party

I can't blame them. Those girls are legends in their own lunch time. And when they sit on their Hardleys. Give them a break. They are trying hard to be cool.

Well, they do actually achieve it much more than the dudes on their superbikes in their leather multi coloured ironman suits.

I would like to have a Hardley, but can't afford one.

A lot of Harley haters would like to be able to afford one. If so they would probably still buy a top of the range jap or euro bike except the ones driving a jap cruiser.

You should see this south park episode. They like people to pay attention to them on their loud bikes. When people don't pay attention they add more horns and police sirens. I actually saw some thai's with Police sirens and lights with no baffles in their harley bikes. HILARIOUS! http://www.southparkstudios.com/full-episodes/s13e12-the-f-word Season 13 Episode 12. Harley riders on the button. Come to Bang Saen Beach. All the little university kids here have loud bikes too.

I also agree with the theory of little weiners big loud bikes.

Really...there's nothing wrong with a Harley...just the person on it actually.

I used to have a 75 Sturgis low rider. Hint...they were all low riders back then.

Putted all over Southeast Asia on it...had a blast.

But nowadays....

Injection is nice but I'd rather be blown...

Perhaps you are used to big inch hair dryers that last a few months. Whether two or four wheel rides there is a niche. Folk used to say my old Pontiac was all noise and no go. I said jump in. ............w00t.gif ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, There are those out there that can make anything quick if desired. smile.png I have seen ''Harleys'' drag raced thumbsup.gif , up to the user.

True- it ain't what you got it's how you use it, just because some guys got a top of the range Jag/Beamer/Harley does not mean he knows how to use it.

I used to get a hell of a kick out of wiping off jag/sports cars etc with a mini van (Oh and a police car in pursit ;-) But it could corner, and the power to weight ratio !!!!

I am not a bike person (just the little motorbikes here in Thailand, although I have ridden some bigger ones on random trips here and there). However, I have been to some Harley (not corporate, just riders) charity events in the US, where the guys all pay some cash, do a huge ride (thousands and thousands of Harleys making about a 50 mile trip through the countryside), which, in turn, gets people out who also buy food, drink, etc and it goes to the charity.

There were no stories of bikes falling apart or having to be repaired or not performing. Seemed like good bikes. <deleted> do I know.

Of course, these were US biker gang types--live and die on their bikes, a pretty rough crowd, as well (not all of them, though).

Either way, pretty cool to walk down a huge stretch of road just packed with beautiful motorcycles about ready to take off.

Seems like a lot of hate in this thread towards Harley riders.....or am I confusing hate with envy???

I ride a big V twin made in America and I have a loud exhaust.....will you hate me too?

Ps: I don't mind riding with the guys on Waves.....as long as they don't go over 90! rolleyes.gif

All bikies have issues with feeling left out of society, need emotional support from each other to gain the mass macho effect.

Singularly they are quite weak minded individuals.

I have always thought the same although hardly ableto riders in their attempt to be diferent all end up dressing the same and while together taking the macho effect to another level.

Me thinks your "hardley" thinking clearly as with any group it’s not the models or makes of the rides it’s the riders themselves –

Me thinks your "hardley" making any sense or even close to an accurate judgment based entirely upon your own misguided and smallish minded opinionated self-absorbed self –

Me thinks your TV rant is "hardley" worth responding to but now that I am here I can and will be as opinionated as you -

Me thinks its “hardley” relevant that your simple minded enough to group riders together based on the make of the bikes they ride -

Me thinks it’s more than “hardley” relevant that any people on any make of bikes should be judged about their driving habits without grouping them along with people driving cars at outlandish lane positions, speed, thoughtful-less lack of courtesy or otherwise - its people man –

Me thinks your rant is "hardley" worth mentioning here on TV and the moderators should start gleaning TV for spam-ish forum topics –

Me thinks I am not going to read further to find out what your reference to “hardley” actually means bcoz its more nonsense coming from a discombobulated bike rider that clearly has issues with a certain make of bike and has obviously been shunned by “a rider of that make bike" at some time or another -

Me thinks the only reason you would be slamming a specific make of bike such as a “hardley” is bcoz you don’t have one and are jealous of what they represent and what you know you will never be -

Me thinks you “hardley” own what you consider to be a bike of substancial size or quality or you would have made more candid statements about what you consider opposite of “hardley” instead using the word “hardley” repetitiously in your topic.

Me thinks I got “hardley” amused writing this response to your topic.

Said the most annoying post ever on TV

I hardley read it.

Think he must have a big bike between his legs.

Makes for the hardley seen bits.

What do Harleys really 'represent'? It's just a bike, like every other bike- it's not endowed with any particular qualities you can't find in other brands.

I really couldn't give a crap what someone rides- the simple fact they ride at all is what counts- but this 'Riding an HD means xxx' line is kind of silly- it sure isn't 'jealousy' keeping me off a Harley- it's performance (or lack thereof) for the kind of riding I prefer.

It seems that the 'grouping' or 'setting apart' of some HD riders is encouraged and perpetuated by those riders themselves- it's not an image or stigma placed on them by others not in their 'group'- the simple fact is that most riding groups are composed of similar bikes so there is a performance similarity, which allows riders to more-or-less stay together provided they're of equal skill.

Rode big bikes most of my young life and I did by a Harley when I was working in Huston. Had it for all of 3 weeks before I got rid of it. It is an image thing and a fairly comfortable ride for posing on but it handles like a proverbial pig and is very temperamental and consequently unreliable.

For the weekend warriors here in Thailand it represents image alone.

it's good to see the truth finally getting revealed.

I had a fatboy back in 2000,

and couldn't believe I fell for the hype.

What a hug waste of 25k.

Took me months to find a sucker...

yes like me, that would buy it off of me.

Biggest mistake of my life or at least the most expensive mistake to date.

Never again will I own a HD.

I think it was 1999, I was on a tour with V8 guys across the USA. Every evening there was a meet. I cannot remember the venue but I saw the most perfect thing I have ever seen. It was a stunning blond girl in a suede leather bikini trundling round a zillion V8 show cars, she was riding a Harley (Boss Hog) that had a V8 (5.7ltr) Chevy engine in it wub.png throbbing away between her legs, whistling.gif . What a bird eh. thumbsup.gif

Ah, my friend, don't you know a good bike is like a good woman; holding her value is the most impotant feature.

A girl with a 5.7 ltr capacity between her legs wouldn't be much of interest to me. Just saying.
