Pha Mor E-Daeng Cliff to reopen.

Featured Replies

Bangkok Post Breaking News front page is reporting that Pha Mor E-Daeng Cliff to reopen for tourist this Saturday November 16.

That's not really worth driving all the way to this place, if you can't go to the temple. The cliff isn't that nice, honestly speaking.-wai2.gif

You'll be shot at the border of Amphur Kantharalak, Sirchai!tongue.png

I suspect that the cliff will nonetheless now become a bigger tourist attraction, for Thais in particular. Just hope that the Thai Government does ultimately negotiate temple access to the temple from the Thai side as before, now that the heat is subsiding. A proper border there would be even better. There's a lot of money potential hanging on temple access locally.

If you do come, notwithstanding that there is some truth in Sirchais comments*, then stop for a beer or two and a pizza at Pizza4U in Kantharalak. I have no financial/etc connection in saying that - just passing on the info that this small Amphur town on the way to the temple national park has a now surprisingly well-populated (daytime and early evening in particular) falang bar/restaurant.

*But the whole Cambodian border area has its attractions for wildlife/scenery for the adventurous.

I was at the temple three times. Once with a police escort, when all foreigners from Sisaket and Amphurs were invited and had lunch with the governor many moons ago, another time with some friends and the third time with my mother and father in law and 15 others, who set somewhere on my Pick Up.

Yes, it's a nice ride on a bigger bike, the scenery is really nice. You're right, it's worth to stop at Pizza 4 You to have a cold one and a nice pizza. The place is right at the tiny bus station in Kantharalak.

Thanks SantiSuk for the warning,, will wear my bullet proof west next time when heading to this wonderful place called Kantharalak. And if I meet you at Norbert's place, I'll buy you a beer.
