Need someone/service to help top up my cell phone credit

You should be able to add value remotely, and directly with the service provider, using a credit card.

Which service provider do you use?

Or transfer funds to some trusted friend/colleague in Thailand and ask them to add value to your number.

Does the OP not have a friend who would buy top-up cards at 100 baht a pop ?

When I leave thailand I always take a stock of top-up cards with me. I can top up my credit in the usual way from anywhere I can connect. :)

With most service providers you can add value remotely using any credit card, no need to have a Thai bank account, with or without internet banking.

(Of course it is often easy to get a bank account here, but it can be more challenging to get internet banking enabled on said account.)

You may have to ring their call center if you can't figure out how to do it on line.

The OP really needs to let us know which service provider is used.

Any friend, who knows your number, can simply walk in to any 7/11 and add value to that number. No need to futz around with top-up cards. But agree, that in some instances, it might be a good idea to carry top-ups with you, assuming they do not have any shelf-life, so if you have IR enabled, and have a signal you could top up. Also a good idea to register for web-based account management services, which typically allow for on-line top up using codes from scratch cards or slips, if one does not have a signal. Plenty of options, with some forethought.

I'm assuming the OP needs credit to make calls, rather than to simply extend validity - as there are other options for extending validity. But as in all cases, more details rather than fewer, can yield more focused responses.

Funnily, True Prepaid can be topped up online with a foreign credit card. Post pay cannot.

DTAC can also be topped up online. Have experience with both.

hey guys sorry i forgot to say which mobile company.

It's true move H. It's expiring soon. I need to get a move on.

What is your primary issue or concern? Expiring validity? If so, just ring TrueMove (H), +66 89 100 1331, to see if you can pay for extended validity, and/or add value using a CC?

But I'm still not certain what it is you are trying to do as we have to beg for information. Just clearly state as much detail as possible, and what your goal(s) are.

To be perfectly honest all of these mobile operators are in violation of Thai law that prevents them from expiring your account as long as you have a pretty paid balance remaining. This is because the Thai Government owns the phone numbers issued to the carriers. Most are being fined for this practice but refuse to pay the fines so the authorities do nothing do nothing about it, TIT

to add credit to my number with no thai bank a/c and not using thaiprepaid.com or buying cards from amazon they don't ship to my country and it's stupid to pay the shipping charges and if you don't pay express shipping well good luck waiting for 1/2 a month.

There should be another way right?

This bit of information doesn't help me in anyway. You can key in a code on your phone and you will see an expiry date and i would assume once that date is passed and you don't attempt to extend it by topping up your number i suppose all the credit in there is gone. Seriously what good is the information that they refuse to pay the fines and hence are allowed to carry out so called illegal pratices? It doesn't help the users of these numbers do they? What more a foreigner.

Meh, not exactly. The government doesn't own the numbers, they sold them, or in the old concession model, rented them out long-term. Not a law per se, but an ever changing NBTC/consumer advocates regulation/interpretation/disagreement re: the wording of a Law ("Telecommunications Business Act of 2006" - the terminology is about deposits, and things being in the best interest of the consumer, which can obviously be interpreted any number of ways) which most operators here are now interpreting to mean that yes, your number/account cannot expire BUT you are required to use it during some period, now loosely documented as 60 days. Operators have a cost associated with maintaining accounts so some balance between usage and expiration seems necessary. It is idiotic to assume you can have an endless supply of numbers.

The NBTC continues to threaten fines for this, toothlessly, to date.

Operators are also to required to register each SIM with a user's Thai ID or foreign passport, and this one has also been laxly enforced - save in the four troubled Southern provinces.

Obviously, if operators cannot expire unused accounts, and re-cycle the numbers which they purchased, they would (are actually) run out of numbers. Doesn't take a genius to realize that problem.

See post #10. Assumes you have some sort of credit card, it doesn't have to be issued from a Thai bank.

So you need to add value? Or extend the expiration? These two activities can be mutually exclusive. But I give up.

I didn't click the link until just now.

Ok i see you can top up with a non thai cc. I will give it a try.

I must add that true move is different from AIS. AIS rejects foreign ccs the cso told me cos it takes lots of time to chase after the money from them.

I topped up on the true move link provided. My number is a true move H number and they stated 60 days but i only got 30 days extension with 300bht top up. It's also 30 days from the day you top up not 30 days from your last expiration date.

On the box cover that i got it says true move H so this is so BS scam about a 60 day extension.

For the last time, are you trying to extend the validity? If so, why? To keep the number because it has some intrinsic value? Or add value for usage because your balance is low?

Believe your validity would be extended to a rolling 60 days based on usage - most operators no longer extend existing validity from a future expiration date as they did in the past, completing an out-bound call - which will be expensive assuming you enabled international roaming. I would ring TrueMove H's call center and see what your options are based on your individual requirements.

What is the promotional name of your SIM? It should be on the original packaging.

edited to add: it seems like you should get 60 days validity (maximum: rolling, not cumulative or additive) for any top-up so not sure if the usage requirement is in force? Originating an SMS should satisfy any usage requirement and push the validity out 60 days max. How are you checking your balance/validity? You have IR enabled? Have a signal? are using #123#?
