I'm filling out form TM7 and am unclear whether I would put my departure flight location from home country (Los Angeles) or do I put Singapore as my Singapore air flight connected through there?

Thanks!

I've always answered it, Air.

As I didn't arrive by sea or land.

To give the answer as a place, I would have thought the question would have been Arrived via.

But as you say, it doesn't seem to matter either way.

No, on the TM 7 form there is a specific blank space for FROM. That demands putting a PLACE. There is ALSO a specific blank space for ARRIVED BY, which you would put air if it was air, or whatever mode of transport that it was. You should not keep the space labeled FROM blank.

In the topic title, the OP asks about "arrived by" and also I was thinking it is about the mode of transport, ie by air, land or sea, but looking at the current arrival card, in use already for many years, I see that there is no question about "arrived by" (see attachments)

You know what? no one will ever read or notice what you going to put there,

you can put I arrived from the moon and that will be ok by them...

I think they would notice if you put something nutty on the form.

For my past 6 extensions I have put. Arrived by: Bus From: Savannakhet

The OP states TM7 and very specifically states Arrived By (Mode of transportation). Always used Air unless a land crossing. There is a separate place for the From which I use the city the flight departed from to BKK.
