I need to extend my retirement visa at Chaeng Wattana nex week and just wanted to hear of any news about the occupation of the complex. Maybe people who have been there can update us all here:

What's the state of the occupation? - is it affecting the renewal/extension of visas/90 day reporting etc

What's the state of the traffic? - to and from the complex - eg.buses, taxis, minivans, motorcycle taxis - can they get through from various points, such as Mor Chit BTS?

What's the consequences for visa etc? - if it is impossible to renew/extend visas what is to be done about them? Are there penalties?

What's the alternative? - would it be possible to renew/extend somewhere other than your area of residence? Such as Pattaya?

Thanks to everyone for the info. Seems like we should have more of these uprisings as they seem to speed up the immigration, as opposed to the emigration!
