Checking ais voicemail from overseas

Recommended Posts

Just switched over to monthly service from pay as you go, mainly for the voicemail. Just wondering if anyone can confirm that dialing *99 will get me to voicemail when dialing from overseas. I assumed these sorts of calls would only work within Thailand. I realize that this sort of call will incur long distance fees.

Great thanks for that. They didn't give me this info at the ais store in paragon, they only told me to call *99 from anywhere in the world.

In pdf leaflet from the link - you can figure out the access number used to retrieve your emails:

+66 81 9009999

They advice you to use their "Call Home Service" to access it.But it works in any way you will make your call!

for instance - you can use Skype ,calling cards,VOIP etc. Just dial access number, like any number in Thailand.

From many countries calls to Thailand are free or very cheap if you use local sim card, you pay only for local air time.

You do not need to use their international roaming!

The first link I provided clearly, and succinctly describes the options for accessing voicemail

http://activities.ais.co.th/Interservice/en/gsm-valueadded-callmanagement.shtml

1. Press +66 81 900 9999

2. Press your AIS GSM mobile number (10 digits)

3. Key in your 4-digit password

Service Rate 3 Baht per minute (excluding VAT) when applying for service / canceling service / changing password. Retrieving voice mail messages will be charged at international roaming rate of call from country you are in to Thailand

Or,

Roaming Tip :You can listen to Voice Mail without entering password by using Call Home Service

Press *131**99#

This latter option passes your 10 digit AIS number for verification - no need for PW, but you will pay higher, roaming prices. The first option can, obviously, be dialed from any phone, via any means.

FYI just tried the +66 81 900 9999 number and you need to register for this service before using.

^ Yes, of course.

You may also be able to register using their e-Services Android app. - really nifty app. (not sure if they have an iPhone version), and/or their web-based e-Services platform.

You may also be able to request activation of voice-mail service via email: [email protected]

Be sure to include details re: your account/number so they can activate it.
