Monk found living in East Pattaya rented room, fails drugs test

PATTAYA:--Local residents contacted Banglamung Police on Monday to complain about a Monk who was living in a rented room instead of a Temple and was seen to collect alms on a daily basis.

Police made their way to the rented room in Soi Nong Get Yai 12 and confronted the Monk, named as Phra Pon, who was eating lunch at the time. He explained how he had come to Pattaya to visit family members and denied collecting alms in the early morning hours as seen by local residents.

Although his Monk identification papers appeared genuine, Police suspected he may be under the influence of narcotics and conducted a presumptive drug test which the Monk subsequently failed.
