My lazyboy recliner has a hole in the leather and i wonder how that can happened. It is about 5 years old now.

When i examined the backrest i can see some strange patterns in the leather and i guess it is from sweat. The armrest has small cracks in the toplayer of the leather but i guess that's from the sun.

Does anybody here have the same problem and what can i do to solve the problem?? I have the thin-leather lazyboy (top-model). I treat the chair with mink-grease for leather every 6 months and also it is cleaned with a wet towell about every week.

Is there a decent recommended company in BKK that can repair the small hole?

Your couch is most likely bonded leather.

Really? I thought it was the best quality availlable? This is soft thin leather which costs more then the thick leather that lazyboy uses. I thought it was an american quality-product but i might be wrong. For 70k baht i would expect some quality, it is a recliner not a couch and made in Thailand by lazyboy.

Yes i agree made in Germany or Japan are my favorites but the americans designed the most comfortable recliner, i have never seen one like that in Jurruman and i stay there a lot. This is a leather problem though, has nothing to do with the manufacturer i guess, they don't produce leather in Thailand and even don't have nice fat cows. If i recall well the leather is from Italy or Brasil. Also i thought leather was waterproof but can sweat go in the leather?

A friend of mine has a leather jacket, produced for German submarine people in second worldwar.

it is saw action and salt water.

it was used by his grandfather for decades.

Than he used it.

And if I would tell you it is brand new, bought a month ago, you would believe it. I got told that there are many different ways of making leather and the best one are banned (environmental laws) and or are very expensive.

But it seems that makes the difference.
