TAT officially announces 2014 New Year's celebration

BANGKOK, 26 December 2013 (NNT) — The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has officially announced this New Year’s celebration as “Amazing Thailand Countdown 2014”.

Tourism Authority of Thailand governor Thawatchai Arunyik made the announcement at the TAT head office - stating the the New Year’s countdown is an excellent means of sharing the country’s tourist destination and culture with tourists traveling to the country during the festive season.

The countdown venues will be held in 7 places across the nation: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Khon Kaen, Pattaya, Hat Yai, and Phuket.

Furthermore, in order to accommodate the demand of those seeking a milder and more tranquil side of the celebration, there will also be activities geared towards the Buddhist travelers, such as an overnight praying session to welcome the New Year, which will be held at Chulalongkorn Ratchawittayalai in Ayutthaya province; and merit making at 9 temples in the Bangkok area.

TAT we love you!!giggle.gif

You are the true defination of Thainess!

Bangkok is foggy with teargas, helicopters are bringing injured to hospitals and schools are closed for security reasons!

And you are inviting tourists to join the "Amazing countdown" and experience Thai Culture??

Unlike Thailand, most countries have a free press, so maybe Thailand will maybe not be their first choice for a relaxed holiday, after reading about your riots.

Or maybe your target-group is adventure tourists?

Please publicise another prognosis soon, always good for a laugh!!thumbsup.gif

"amazing Thailand" or "10 days of danger" .............. take your pick

Dear god, TAT, does anyone in your organization have more than one functioning brain cell?

Tourists looking for a tranquil or milder celebration ain't coming here this year.

The TAT people must live in a fantasy bubble. Thailand has not been amazing for a long time!

Oh well, putting a positive spin on things. While the city is in turmoil come and celebrate New Years in Bangkok. cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

Here's Joe Cool hangin'around, drinking root beer and eyeing chicks... or how TAT is living in it's own little world, inviting people for a countdown with bullets flying around, fighting all over the place and hospitals full with injured people. Have a jolly nice holiday in Bangkok!
