When is Chinese New Year?

My GF and I plan to come to BAngkk from Pattaya for the New Year and stay for one night. Which day should we arrive to see the parades, etc. January 29th or February 1st?

Yes, it's early this year and I would avoid the parades in Thailand in any case.

If you really want them then better in Malaysia. Possibly Singapore but not been there for them.

Of course you always have the option of China?

I doubt if you'll see anything different in BKK to Patts.
