TMN Wifi off every evening for hours. Why?

Featured Replies

I am in a condo and using the TMN 350 Baht a month wi-fi. Every evening it goes off-line around 7 or 8 p.m. I cannot re-connect for several hours, sometimes until the next day. Daytime the connection is constant.

I've tried phoning TMN but they cannot help except to say it goes off for a short time every evening.

The bars for signal strength are there and there are maybe 3 or 4 connections availabe. Yet each time I cannot get internet access. I cannot even get to log in to put in a password.

I thought (wrongly) initially that it was the ladlady turning off her modem.

Is this normal? Is there anything I can do about it?

Thanks.

Your wifi is coming from the landlady's modem? I assume that you mean the communal TMN modem that she has installed to give wifi coverage for the condo. If so, it would seem that the modem isn't automatically reconnecting after TMN's regular, short outage. Is anyone else in the condo having the same problem?

Ask the landlady if it is possible that the next time it drops out and doesn't come back, that she turn it off, wait a couple of minutes and turn it back on again to see if that gets you connected. Either way, maybe get her to get TMN to come and check the modem setup?
