PHUKET: -- Police are investigating the cause of death of a man whose body was found washed up on Patong Beach this morning.

Police were called to the beach in front of Loma Park (map here) at about 5:30am after passers-by noticed the body.

“He had dark skin, was 150-160cm tall and appeared to be 30-35 years old,” said Maj Jakkrapong Luang-aon of the Patong Police. "He was fully clothed, but carried no identification on him. We think he probably went swimming and drowned."

The man’s body was taken to Patong Hospital to determine cause of death, as police try to discover who he was.

Swimming fully clothed? Either that or one of those enslaved fisherman perhaps. End of the month, paycheck time. Or not as it were...

Last night in Karon, I saw about a thousand people fully clothed in the water....peeing, crapping, making out, drinking, and partying....same was probably true in Patong.

It is tempting to do a probe-joke or two, but as we do not know what happened to the unfortunate man I will stick with R.I.P. and hopefully be back with a vengeance at a more suitable occasion.

surprised they found anyone among all the trash , but then again phuket seems to attract trash from all over the world now.

Many Asian people go to swim full clothed but I'm pretty sure this man was enough died when was thrown to the sea ...thumbsup.gif

According to 'gods' site the guy was a Nepalese who had been swimming with friends.......whatever the cause, another life lost is one too many..R.I.P

Why are they probing the body?????? To make sure that he was dead? OHHHHaaa

Swimming fully clothed is not uncommon even in England. I've seen photos of fully suited gentlemen with ties adorned and trousers rolled up to the knees taking a dip, as it were.

A lot of fully clothed guys wash up on beaches with their flys undone. Yachties going for a pee on the back deck and then falling over the side
