BANGKOK: -- 8 Indian tourists have been reportedly injured by their fall from an escalator on Phayathai BTS station today.

Officials at the station said the tourists were "making fun of each other" during their escalator ride, causing one of them to slip and fell into other tourists below the stairs. The entire group eventually tumbled down the escalator.

The Indian tourists were described as 3 men and 5 women, and all of them are reportedly "elderly" persons. The staff have applied first aid to the tourists and later transported them to hospital.

As a connection point to Airport Rail Link, Phayathai BTS station is frequented by many foreign visitors to Thailand, but there is no report of other tourists or passengers injured in the incident.

Sounds like they were attacked more like.

Please do not try to create civil disorder, nor spread rumours.

There is no evidence of an attack, and no witness statements from anyone that is contrary to the explanation given. This station is frequented by thousands of users everyday, none of whom has stated an attack occurred.

If it "sounds" like an attack to you, then you need to deal with your own personal fears.

You really are out of touch, Just his expression because of the event. Sure the poster didn't mean Attacked as in big mob violence.

You accused me of a cheap shot not long ago. Kettle bla comes to mind.

Maybe you have the protesters on the brain too much.wink.png

Best wishes to the injured ,it;s horrid to be hurt far from home and mar a vacation, then to receive racist slurs.

Would we laugh if it was Israelis,Finns or Montynegros ?

Perhaps their plight was due to cowboy maintainance or they had over indulged as many here will have done .

Happy New Year to social climbers everywhere.

So the Indian tourists are a bit .....

Either of my nightmares when I have to take an Indian tourist to under water for DSD (discovery scuba dive = not diver, but would like try (and to kill both of us)).

If some-one looks at us from enough distance can think I'm fighting hard with a big black fat shark.

I love threads like this one as they really help to expose the racists/border line racists here on TVF.

And which particular posts do you find offensive dear sir?

Apart from the garbled post regarding diving with a big black shark.

'Create civil disorder'? You're not all there, are you?

So the 'thousands of users' were all using the escalator at the time of the incident and witnessed there was no attack?

There probably wasn't an attack but one can understand such speculation due to the common and regular attacks on tourists and expats as have been well documented on this forum.
