Price discrimination is used all over the world. Even large hotel chains here have different rates for different nationalities. Even the hospitals. You just don't see them listed on the wall. The logic is, that if everyone pays the Thai price, they will not make enough money to survive. And if you charge only a farang price, the Thais won't come, and you will not make enough money to survive.

Or as the internet says: "by determining the optimum prices in each market segments, the discriminator will obtain higher revenues than under a single price strategy." And in a lot of cases in Phuket this means the difference between survival or not.

Anyway, as long as you are not paying their bills, you're not to worry about their income either. Forget about how much money they make, or spend, or not make. Not your business. Do you think it is worth the money they ask you? Or not?
