Western Union Receiver Pickup Location accurate?

Hi all

Has anyone ever transferred money to Thailand via Western Union or another money transfer service and been able to find out where the receiver picked up the cash? Is the information held by WU accurate?

Anyone know of any alternative transfer service or method by which the sender can identify the exact location or city where the money was picked up?

You have two options when you send via Western Union.

1, instantly costs about $6

2, 24 hrs costs about $4

When you fill out the form they ask for mobile phone numbers.

You are texted instantly the moment the money is collected.

But to answer the question, not where it was picked up - maybe it's in the WU system? Have you tried asking? In Thailand you could probably pay a bit on the side for the extra service.

I have tried called Western Union and they have told me it was picked up in Bangkok (but they cannot disclose which branch).

I sent the money to my girlfriend (no not someone I met online) I have know her for a number of years.

I think she may be lying to me as she told me she was in a different city when she picked up the money. I just want to find out how accurate the information is?

They lie, they scam for money.

Doesn't mean she doesn't love you. Just that the money is more important to her.

Don't worry about it, long as you're getting good value for the expense, let her have her life. IMO

Familymember picked up for my friend.. she knew the guy who worked in the village neares. But I'm not sure if WU gives that intel

If you're trying to say that a WU employee would release funds to someone other than the receiver specified, I'm not buying, even in Thailand.

I'm in the wrong business, haha why are you sending her money in the first place, she probable has 3-4 other so called boyfriends sending her money, if you cant trust her she not worth the money. I'm a 6 foot blond lady and I think Im in love, can you sent me money ill sent you some pictures?

dont worry about it...its only a little white lie, so popular in Thailand....she will still love you long time, provided you keep sending the money of course
