Do these numb nuts not realise (i)their opinion is not wanted and (ii) they clearly have no idea what they are talking about. I fail to understand the allure of even considering such an ill-informed & ill advised participation in the political rally in a country they are visiting as Tourists! Only small contribution they made was to give the assemble mob the chance to point and nudge the person next to them and utter with undertones of ridicule "doo doo Farang Farang!" I think it's very myopic for Thais to completely discredit and reject any opinions from people born outside of Thailand. Short sighted, very immature, and often beyond logic. Plenty of people have moved here and made Thailand their home, we contribute, and all of this affects us too. Permanent residents should be allowed to vote + all the other trimmings, especially those with wives and children. Perhaps that is why we like the place so much as no foreigners have come in and runed it. We all know that most Thai's have a very strong pride in their country and somehow believe if they let too many foreigners in they will lose what they have. I still remember when my wife came with me to Australia her father and educated mans last words were 'be careful over there daughter I think you have a good husband but not all farang smart, many farang are stupid'. Both sides of politics dont seem to do foreigners any major favours and I lived here for five years and never really felt overly welcome. Never really managed to make any seriousThai friends and this was the first country I have lived in where I was not able to do this. I was in that area today getting a coffee. I didn't get too close to the rally but saw the usual stupid farang that has gone local walking up the street hand in hand with their Thai girlfriend carrying a whistle and wearing a shut down Bangkok shirt. They were getting some strange looks and even I felt I was getting some strange looks just being near the area. People need to take a back seat and let the Thai people go through this process our own countries also went through similar processes throughout history. 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
