Popular Post webfact
Abhisit urges courage to rule fishy rice deal caseBANGKOK: -- Democrat party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva today urged the National Anti Corruption Committee (NACC) to rule the fishy rice deal with courage and speed to bring all the corrupted politicians and officials to trials. The opposition leader’s comment came as the NACC’s inquiry panel is scheduled to propose the full board of the NACC on its finding tomorrowThe panel has completed its investigation with report that it has substantial evidence and ground to propose the full NACC board to proceed with the prosecution of these wrongdoers.Among the wrongdoers with clear evidence of corruption is the former commerce minister Boonsong TeriyapiromใCaketaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra was also among the politicians who was named by the Democrat party to be responsible for the rice deal scandal in a petition to the NACC for probe.Abhisit said today that the NACC must show its courage to identify their guilt and with speed and bring them to trial. He said that the NACC had earlier warned the Yingluck government of risking irregularities and corruption to implement the rice-pledging scheme but it did not heed the warning. Therefore it was the time for the NACC to prove itself to its warning and identify their guilt with courage and speed, he added. At tomorrow’s meeting of the full NACC board, if it approved the finding of its inquiry team for action, politicians who were charged must stop all official work immediately.Source: http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/abhisit-urges-courage-rule-fishy-rice-deal-case/ -- Thai PBS 2014-01-15
Popular Post pookiki
Speedy trial in Thailand?? Very interesting concept, indeed. Popular Post jaidam
You have to admire Abhisit, only hours after the red ruffians bombed his house in an obvious assassination attempt he is there in the spotlight highlighting the Thaksin governments in-your-face corruption. Showing more determination and a keener sense of smell for corruption than a truffle dog in an autumn woodland. The clan can not recover from their dastardly deeds being under the spotlight for the world to see and be repulsed by. When any Democrat (annex Yellow) does something wrong, the Judiciary system is put in reverse gear forever and ever.

Popular Post Costas2008
To the Foreigners supporting Yingluck, and her puppet government. Please, open your eyes and ears. Try to understand the damage they have done to this beautiful country. Do you really want this to carry on? Because, if elected, nothing will change, except the chance that her criminal brother will come back to do more damage.

It is ludicrous and hypocritical for Abhisit to talk about the concept of a 'speedy trial'. IMHO all current and former MPs and PMs still living and under charges should be brought to trail as soon as possible - especially when such charges include murder. If Thailand wants real reform, then reform the judiciary and treat everyone 'equal under the law'. Reform corruption? It all starts with equal enforcement of the law. I ask you a thousand fold sorry and may the wrath of the lord Bouddha strike me a hundredfold for forgetting that Foreigners can vote too in Thailand. Popular Post Costas2008
To pookiki: I support the 'rule of law' in Thailand I do the same, but when did Yingluck supported the law for 2.5 years being in charge of the country? Not many times, I can assure you. Only when it benefits their own interests and pockets. Do you really want this to carry on? The sooner Abhsit and Surhep are allowed their chance to clear their names of the stupid charges the better. It will give them the chance to bring out all the evidence their lawyers will have accumulated, the hate speeches from the red stage urging violence, the phone'ins, the videos and photos of the men in black and the money trail back to the instigator and funder of the riots. PT attempted to deny them that chance by including them in the amnesty bill but it did not work so the truth will come out and it will be the final death nell for Thaksin. OH and no doubt you would also like to see those charged with terrorism for their part in the riots of 2010 before the courts pronto.

Abihisit is right and why shouldn't it be that that way. Why should the NACC fear the government or particular personalities? As far as Abihsit goes... anyone can be accused of anything at any time and anywhere. You've already condemned him before he's ever had a day in court and that's not very democratic. For example: I could say that (whoever) is a "bed wetting dwarf pygmy with bad breath and acne" but it wouldn't at all be true at all unless I actually knew it for a fact. The problem is that the current government tends to say these things and lay out legal charges with no regret or fact. They are all counter charges designed to distract and distance the opposition and the public from what's actually going on.

Now I really do know that you are stark, staring mad! A ping-pong ball (or a fire-cracker) on the roof of his house when he wasn't even home "an obvious assassination attempt"? As for the rest, it reminds me of the very best of the satire from the 60s and 70s. Poor old Abhisit, floundering about like a fish out of water, leading a political party too scared to run in an election, watching his party's top dogs fighting each other in public and now reduced to playing second fiddle to a raving lunatic who thinks he's either Mussolini or the Messiah. Salute him if you must, but do keep taking your medicine!
