As you can see, even when the Gmail composing window is enlarged, there are barely 7 lines readable. Highly annoying.

Most of the space is taken by the address and the subject.

I want to see without cumbersome scrolling about 1 normal page. Possible?

The current Gmail interface is an unmitigated disaster.

1) cc and bcc are in the far top right. Why?

2) In threaded conversation view, you have to hold down the reply button to edit the subject. Why???

3) When you do edit the subject, it pops open a full edit window. Why?

I could go on and on. But Google occasionally takes 3 steps forwards and 2 steps back. We're currently on the 2 steps back part...

I compose my emails using Word 2010 with all of its spell and grammer checking features. I then copy the text to the clipboard and paste into the email (Yahoo in my case) composition window. No worry about the size of the window, the length of the message or losing the text I have typed. Works great.

On my laptop I get 18 lines in the composition window.

If you use the zoom feature ( ctrl-+/- or ctrl-mouse scroll) this will affect font size and line availability.

Also, you're not limited to only using the web interface with google mail. Download a mail client and configure it to connect via IMAP.

If anything, you are too kind!

Desktop version of Gmail looks like it is designed by someone who does not use gmail. It is ridiculously bad. Relativly new Hotmail design looks like decade ahead of current gmail layout and ease of use.

Android Gmail app is logically layed out, easy and intuitive to use.

Isn't Outlook sold with Office for that reason?smile.png
