That is because they have been freed because they said they didn't do anything wrong and that the 4 grenades and ammo were just for personal protection and the police accepted this without delay and issued a statement that these people were totally innocent of all and any involvement in attacks on protesters and they had 'honorable' intentions.

This is why the police are NOT trusted. Personally I hope that the entire police force is replaced once Suthep wins, and he will win.

With the increased security measures after yesterday's grenade attack it is very surprising that an armed assailant can wander into the area (very close to the stage) & throw a grenade, before escaping. Making anyone wonder?

I walked past there just after 10am and then again at just after 12.30pm. There were far fewer protesters at 12.30pm than at 10.15am. did they know something we didn't?

It's pretty obvious (idiotic actually to suggest) that the protestors are doing this to themselves as well as the shooting at the Dem headquarters and the grenades and other warnings issued to Abhisit, Sukhumband and other protest leaders. The perps haven't been caught because of a corrupt, one-sided and incompetent police.

The red mob from Pathum Thani were the attackers in Chaeng Wattana.

No one really knows what group or individuals are responsible for all the violent & murderous acts and I'm not about to accuse anyone which can only be driven by hatred of one side. That includes 'poisonous' above too.

Someone throwing some sort of bomb then running or riding a motorbike shooting at those chasing him.

Surely there must have been some cops somewhere along his escape route.

If there were a police as in more civilized countries, there were no road blocks and stages.

28 injured in Victory Monument bomb attack: BMA emergency centre

Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA)'s Erawan Emergency Medical Services Centre reported that 28 people were injured in the double grenade attacks at the Victory Monument rally site.

Thailand is surrounded with countries that either have ongoing insurgencies or up till recently had insurgencies. Grenades aren't a particularly difficult item to find. Certainly in the border areas.

Another blast wounds 28 Suthep supporters

BANGKOK: Twenty eight people were injured in a bomb explosion at the Victory Monument anti-government protest rally site at about 1.34pm, media reports said.

One of the 28 wounded is Sithinee Huangnak, a reporter for Post Today newspaper, who was admitted to nearby Ratchawithi Hospital. Ms Sithinee was later transferred to Phyathai Hospital 2 hospital.

The other wounded were rushed to Ramathibodi and Phra Mongkut hospitals, the reports said.

Thaworn Senneam, a former Democrat MP and core PDRC co-leader in charge at the Victory Monument rally stage, said an unidentified man threw an explosive device near a press centre tent behind the rally stage and ran off. He was chased by security guards and protesters, prompting him to toss another bomb.

But the group continued to try to catch him and the man fired a shot at them, leaving at least one person injured, before fleeing on a motorcycle driven by another man, heading toward Tuek Chai intersection.

It was believed the bomb thrower was one of six assailants at the scene. Mr Thaworn believes the bomber was targeting him as the bomb exploded only 20 metres away from where he was standing. Before the incident, guards spotted a suspicious-looking man and asked him to leave the protest venue.

A group of suspicious men later were seen scouting at the back of the rally stage, he said.

It is not yet known whether the explosive device was a grenade like the one used in Friday's attack.

I take it for what it is a confession that this is indeed a red shirt action. And if it is true then it shows how much worse they are the anti government protesters. Not that many people doubt that I mean they are the ones that burned BKK.

The yellow shirts did the bak thai incedent, war on drugs, sale of thai satelite company without paying taxes, then wore red shirts and staged 2009-2010 riots, stole the money from rice scheme-water managment projects, issued and passed the amnesty bill along with some other nasty pieces or legislations and now bombed - shot at themselfs to death and THEN they blamed poor misunderstood MR.T for it. Shame on them!!!

after sitting on the sidelines for a few days I have really noticed how the reds in here are really sprouting a lot of garbage about the protesters doing to themselves and trying desperately to turn the eyes of everyone away from the reds/ptp/police. Actually sounds as if some of them have a bit more knowledge about what is really happening or are on the payroll to turn eyes away from the real culprits, The more they continue to try to blame the people for killing themselves the more guilty they look as do the ones they are trying to protect. This is really looking like the work of thaksins groupies as in 2010, cant wait for him to have an international arrest warrant issued by an honest govt and his sister/ptp all put where they belong(inside, beside him, oh joy!!!!!!!!!!!!
