A group of Thai soldiers have shown off some fancy synchronised footwork during the Armed Forces Day Parade on Saturday.

It may start simple but, as the group shows, with a little creativity and timing the visual illusion grows.

Watch their impressive wave set to band Europe's 'The Final Countdown' above.

Blood on the streets...and they been practicing for thailands got talent...cool

It's actually not as described in the OP.

It's the annual swearing of allegiance to the King and Kingdom done on an annual basis.

I was watching it on Thai TV with English subtitles.

Groovy YouTube though ...

I'm not a big fan of such activity. I appreciate that it's the evolution of old fashioned drilling which is supposed to hone skills and encourage regimental pride and all that good stuff. And yes, they perform nicely making for some much needed nice PR. However, it's 2014 and not 1814. The days of needing to keep formation while marching against the "enemy" are long gone. Fancy dance numbers won't help against the insurgents in the south. It's the military, not Thailand MTV's best dance crew Nor will it help secure the borders against the onslaught of the yaba smugglers. Perhaps if the time was spent on training in the fundamentals, including the boosting of skill levels the Thai military wouldn't perform so poorly when it enters the competitions that test actual useful skills. Thailand should be a leader in jungle or sea search and rescue and right now it isn't. Who would you rather be sent to come and rescue you when your plane crashes or your boat sinks? Top of the line personnel or the amazing dance troupe?

Someone who doesn't have a clue about the military and discipline, team work and precision timing. All needed in the field. Plus these are a special, chosen team and not as if every single military individual goes through that same intensive march training. Most countries have similar teams. This hardly excludes the rest from obtaining the 'fundamentals'. And nearly every year, they are trained in extreme survival skills by the US military, so they are indeed being trained beyond the fundamentals.

And most of the US military are trained by ex specialists from the UK. They got out because of bad pay and being sold down the line by British politicians.
