How much of the donated money actually ends up where it's supposed to end up? Even the big charities, most of the money goes on administration and a fraction actually hits the people.

Using this logic, even some is better than none!

Point made mate, but its still a noble effort and just having the knowledge it exists could save a kid in the future

That's why I suggest to anyone willing to donate that they should buy books, stationary and clothes to donate to children.

That is how we operate at GOMS. Normally we never give money, just buy needed goods. Recently we did pay cash but direct to teachers for their salary (note it is a private organization funded soley by donations).
