I wonder if they will send it back to me or try again? Anyone have any experience?

There has been a couple of other posts with the same info from tracking.

I think the post office will hold them until CW reopens.

Further to my earlier report of posting my 90 day report to Laad Prow on 14 th from Sena Nikom.

The latest on that is :delivered to Laad Prow on 16th dealt with on 17th and I received the reply at Phaholyothin soi 30 on 27th.

Hmmm. I just assumed that they would forward the Chang Watttana mail to wherever it needed to go if Chang Wattana was closed.

Hope I don't have to make a trip to Lad Prao. I will give them a call on Monday, as I should have before I mailed it, but don't have much hope of getting through. Maybe though.....

Well, it's kind of surprising to me that after all these weeks, no one posting here with a 90-day report due seems to have actually called Immigration, or at least tried to, to get a direct answer of WHERE to mail to right now.

This was part of a post I did in another thread on this subject earlier today:

The issue of where to mail in 90-day reports in BKK right now seems about as clear as MUD!!!

As member Emanphoto reported in a separate post, his mailed in report to CW in the mid-Jan. timeframe went astray -- no delivery confirmation and no Immigration receipt received back in the mail.

Another member here who I PM'd with was advised back in early Dec. to mail to CW, and he confirmed to me today that his report was received and he got back the required receipt from Immigration by postal mail. That member also posted in one thread on calling the Govt. 1111 Hotline back in Dec., and being advised to mail to CW.

So today, I called the same 1111 hotline, and the English speaking officer handling Immigration questions there today, in answer to my question, advised me to mail my 90 Day report form to Lad Phrao -- and NOT to ChaengWattana.

So, today, when I asked the Hotline guy about the seemingly contradictory advice being given, he game me a phone number to call tomorrow (Monday) for the 90-Day reports desk at Lad Phrao, and suggested to ask the same question there. It's the 092 number UbonJoe has posted just above here.

YEESH!!!!! I'll call the number tomorrow (assuming it's a valid number) and report back here on whatever answer I receive from Immigration.

Meanwhile, if anyone else has any insight/experience on this subject of WHERE to mail-in 90-day reports in Bangkok, please do chime in.

PS - Maybe it's just Immigration being Immigration, but I noted that they don't seem to have listed the postal codes for either the Ladprao or Major Suksawad offices, just the street addresses, in any of their announcements. Kind of makes you wonder if they were expecting to handle postal mail there. From checking elsewhere on the web, it looks like the Postal Code for Imperial World Ladprao is 10310.

2 new tweets from Richard Barrow on the subject:

Until it's confirmed the Chaeng Wattana group have dismantled their stage, you should presume visas should be done at a Lad Prao or Suksawat

From what I understand, the groups at the Chaeng Wattana & Lad Prao sites are run by different groups. They might not agree with Suthep"

This morning, I've been trying to get thru on the mobile number at Lad Prao for 90 Day reports, and thus far, it's always busy or turned off.

So I tried the main phone number for Lad Prao Immigration, and got an English speaking officer just now, and asked my question.

He clearly understood my question, and he insisted that I COULD NOT mail my 90 day report to either CW or Lad Prao right now -- and that I had to report in person to either Lad Prao or Major Suksawat.

I'm hoping that's not true/wrong. But I'll keep trying the 90-day Report Desk mobile number, and see what they have to say -- if anyone will answer that number. sad.png

I suspect it is true as I mailed mine early January and it was received at Chiang Watanna but have not received return receipt as of this date. They say to wait 30 days before asking status but do not say if from mailing or receipt or due date.

Lopburi, earlier in this thread, there's a post #4 from a member who appears to have said he mailed his report to Lad Prao in mid-January and has received his receipt back already. That's obviously at odds with the answer I got from Immigration this morning.

But I haven't seen any reports of people mailing to CW in January and getting a return answer from Immigration.

It may or may not be telling that Immigration appears to have been totally silent/absent on any info about mailed 90 day reports in BKK since they began the whole temporary offices cycle in December and January. As in, no postal codes, no info re mail instructions, etc etc.

I'm hoping I'll be able to get a better answer from the 90 Day Reports desk later today.

Not looking good...

Been trying the 092 number for 90 Day reporting at Lad Prao all day, and it never even rings, just goes straight to a mobile phone unavailable recording.

Called the Govt Center hotline at 1111, and they gave me an alternate number at Lad Prao supposedly for 90 Day reporting also -- 089-777-6111. Called that number repeatedly. It rings, but no one answer it.

So finally, tried the main number for Lad Prao Immigration again, and got a different officer. Asked the same question about can I mail in a 90 day report to them. Without pausing, the officer replied in English, NO, cannot mail in. Must report in person.

If anyone can get a better or different answer, I'd be interested to hear. But right now, based on the two different officers at Lad Prao today telling me NOT to mail in 90 Day reports, I guess I'm going to be going in person to Lad Prao or Major Suksawad. Unless something changes, it's just not worth the hassle of trying to mail and potentially having it disappear, and then trying to fix the problem afterward. sad.pngsad.pngsad.png

Can you please advise the location for these two temporary offices. I think I've seen them posted, but I cannot find. Is Chamchuri Square still an option, or only these two places.

Our temporary offices are :
1. Immigration Service Center for 3 national Legalized Labors, Major Hollywood Suksawat, 1st Floor,
Suksawat Road, Ratburana, Bangkok. Click here to view a map
2. Immigration Service Center for 3 national Legalized Labors, Imperial World Ladprao, 5th Floor,
Ladprao Road, Wang Tong Lang, Bangkok. Click here to view a map

Chamchuri is for those using that office for extensions of stay.

Sorry, found it. I'm in Sathorn, so I guess the Major Suksawad is the nearest. I have to get there over Rama IX bridge, right? Mine's due on 19th February, so I would normally mail today, but I can wait until next week, if I go in person. If CW re-opens by next week, then I suppose it would be too late to send by mail, (as it would be outside the new 2 weeks in advance requirement), or do you think in the circumstances, they might show some leeway?

This other thread has the location details for Imperial Lad Prao and Major Suksawad.

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/695053-bangkok-immigration-opens-additional-offices-during-demonstrations/

AFAIK, Chamchuri Square is only available to those who already do their regular visa business there -- not the general farang population.

Thanks lopburi and TallGuy. I wonder why I never opted to use Chamchuri square for my extension of stay. Was that ever an option? Can one change from Chaeng Wattana to Chamchuri for future extension of stays, do you know?

As far as the 90 day report, I think I'll go away instead. It's not that Suksawad is difficult, (from what I've heard), it's just that I need a break from this ol' town, so I can kill two birds with one stone.

Somtam, it sounds like we're on a virtually identical 90-day reporting calendar.

Re CW, I did see the news this morning in another thread here that PCAD is going to be dismantling their sites at Victory Monument and Lad Prao. But it would sure be nice if CW were to re-open before mid-month.

There was this mention in another thread this morning re CW, but it's coming from the DSI guy Tarit, so who knows about the accuracy of that:

CAPO to reopen government offices as normal today, beginning with Justice Ministry

BANGKOK: -- The Center for Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) plans to reopen government offices as normal today (Feb 3, 2014), starting with the Ministry of Justice.

According to Mr. Tharit Pengdit, Director-General of Department of Special Investigation (DSI) and Centre of Maintaining Peace and Order (CAPO) committee member, said yesterday that the CAPO planned to reopen government offices tomorrow to allow officials to return to work as normal.

The Ministry of Justice, department of Consular Affair and government offices located on Chaeng Wattana Rd., except the DSI, would resume their services on Feb.3( today).

The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, and ten other offices located inside Kasetsart University’s compound, including the Ministries of Commerce, Natural Resources and Environment, Finance, as well as the Public Relations Department will be re-opened on February 4, 2014. All government offices are expected to reopen by next week, except in key protest sites, which might take a bit more time.

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/701634-capo-to-reopen-government-offices-as-normal-today-beginning-with-justice-ministry/

As for Imperial Lad Prao vs. Major Suksawad, it seems as though a lot of the early reports re Lad Prao were talking about the setup there being a zoo. The reports coming out of Major Suksawad seem to talk about a much quieter, more orderly and calm operation there. But perhaps things have evened out over time.

Last time I was out to the Lad Prao area, the traffic up and down Lad Prao was a mess -- and that was before the protests. I'm leading toward trying Major Suksawad -- if nothing breaks with ChaengWattana.

Thanks. I'm checking how to get to Suksawad. My break away to avoid the need for a 90 day report is looking less appealing as usual by the time I've done all the pre-travel planning.

I shall be watching this all to see if Chaengwattana is open for mail-ins asap.

Thanks Joe, but if I can get a sensible taxi driver, I'll take it all the way from Sathorn. Getting to my nearest BTS at Saladaeng is a bit troublesome, with the closure of Silom, and the traffic that snarls up Saladaeng and Convent roads. Have only been walking to it recently, and that's been pleasant enough with the cooler weather, but of course will become less so as it heats up; no telling how long Silom will be closed, but it looks as though they're there for the long haul. Must be killing the normal businesses on Silom, but of course the market stalls are making whoopee.

There was some news today re the partial re-opening of the CW Government Complex.

But as best as I can tell, it only related to somewhat reopening Building A. Unfortunately, Immigration is located in Building B. And no mention of changes re Building B.

Some parts of the Government Complex in Chaeng Wattana will open some services for people from today, as the protesting monk reached an agreement on this yesterday with the Justice Ministry's deputy permanent secretary Thawatchai Thaikeo.

Building A of the complex will open only one of its back doors so officials can work - and people who want to contact government agencies. Some 150 military officers will provide security for this area, according to Kristwit Wiyaporn, commander of the 5th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion.

Thawatchai said more than 1,500 Justice Ministry officials would come to work to provide services for the public and he expected 200 people may want to contact the ministry each day.

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/701852-shutting-down-bangkok-protest-teams-to-target-yinglucks-residence-and-state-agencies/

And actually, the separate Khaosod Online report says Building B will remain closed at least for now, apparently no agreement there:

But a Buddhist monk allied to PCAD, Buddha Issara, agreed yesterday to re-open Building A of the Complex, while Building B and other agencies would still remain closed.

Still see nothing about any movement on the ChaengWattana Immigration office reopening for business.... sad.png

Guess I'm Major Hollywood Suksawat bound...

Planning to take BTS Silom to Chongnonsi, then BRT rapid bus from there to either the Wat Dan (B6) or Rama IX (B9) stops, then a short taxi trip over either the Bhumibol Bridge at Wat Dan or the Rama IX Bridge at Rama IX, on onward to Suksawat.

Why don't you take the BTS to Bang Wa station and then a taxi. That is how others have done it and it cost 85 baht for the taxi.

I haven't been, as yet. But in looking at Google Maps, it certainly seems that crossing the river over the Rama IX or Bhumibol Bridges after taking the BRT on Rama III Road brings you much closer vs ending up on the BTS Silom line extension pretty far to the north.

It's one more travel segment to the trip, but looks to result in a much shorter taxi drive. And, the BRT is a pretty quick, easy and inexpensive trip departing from their Sathorn station. I've used it before, but perhaps a lot of folks aren't familiar with it as an option.

post-58284-0-08877100-1392002833_thumb.j

If I wasn't going to take BRT, I'd probably -- as others here have reported doing -- just take a taxi straight from Chongnonsi and again, cross over the Bhumibol or Rama IX bridges.

But I'm going to give the BRT route a try today, and will report how it goes.
