Family hotel near Phloen Chit BTS (Embassy area)

We've got to go to the embassy in BKK and I wondered if anyone could recommend a good hotel (not too expensive) near Phloen Chit. It will need to be family friendly and also have a car park as I'll be driving.

If you're driving I would stay further up one of the BTS lines, depending where you're driving from, and complete the journey by train, the UK Embassy is a few steps away from the station and the US Embassy a little further.

Thanks for the advice, any suggestions on what area and hotel? Bearing in mind I'll becoming from CM and driving to Hu Hin area after I'd like to avoid central BKK

How about Novotel Ploenchit? Just in front of BTS Ploenchit. Walking distance to the Wittayu area. Price is around 2000-ish (not sure if this will fit your budget). I do believe they should have car park for hotel guest.
