My Ex wife cannot be contacted

I need her birth certificate to obtain uk passport for my son

Can I get a certified copy of my ex-wifes Thai birth certificate at the Amphur where she was born?

What documents would i need to show

Thanks

I don't have answers to your specific question, but thought I'd point out to others to prevent this sort of situation, make sure to get your home-country passports as soon as possible after the birth of your eligible child.

As more time passes the situation often gets more complicated.

OP, do you have sole custody - either via court action or did your ex sign it over at the time of your divorce?

If not you will have trouble leaving the kingdom, and UK authorities may well consider you to have committed "parental kidnapping", which will cause problems in your registering for sole custody back home as well.

These matters can often be cleared up with a little money, you'll probably find it relatively easy to establish contact with her if you're waving a wad of cash in her direction - just leave a message with her family. . .

As I live in Thailand I will be applying for my sons 1st passport at The British Embassy in BKK

One of the required documents is my ex wifes birth certificate, are you saying they will accept a copy of her ID Card?

I showed them the originals of

Her ID, our marriage cert, kids birth cert, my full length birth cert.

(They copied all and signed the application form stating they had seen originals)

Mum and baby didn't go with me.

They definitely don't require the mums birth certificate, because she didn't have one.

Phone them up and ask. I did it in CM, BK might be different.

There is a lot of wiggle room, and I'm gussing they would be OK with a photocopy (cough 500bht cough)

Have you contacted the passport office, as I suggested in your other topic on the matter?

What did they say?

Yes I did

They told me I needed the birth certificate and to contact the Thai equivalent of the registry office where she was born
