Hi All,

Been looking at getting a 4x4 on finance a Toyota 2 cab hillux, you'll have all seem them...

Wondering if anyone knows of any good car finance offers? I am being offered a 10% deposit and a reasonable monthly amount, overall price around 8000thb which is alot cheaper than I would get in the UK for this model, and clearly importing my little clio is not an option,

Before I commit I was wondering if anyone knows of any decent deals they have come across, I am not totally set on the Hilux however it is a nice machine, also looked at the ford ranger yet I am not a big ford fan, also really I am not totally set on a 4x4 but having owned previous euro smaller cars I fancy something a little bigger...

What cars/models has anyone come across which seem nice?

What finance offers seem to be good?

Excuse the spelling/grammar I am 4 Leo`s in,

Thanks,

Ryan

Are you sure you even qualify for credit here?

Shop for the best cash-purchase price first, then calculate your overall APR for the financing deal, shop the banks to have that in your back pocket to compare the dealership options.

Yes I can I have got land to put against it you see, my girlfriends father is allowing us to use an unused plot,

I guess I was more looking at bargains, Toyota/Fords seems to be the only real reasonably priced cars in Thailand

Thanks for your replies,

Just remember, if you pay it off early you get zero discount, no incentive at all for early payment. Not relevant of course if you have zero % to start with.

Edit 80,000*

You do mean 800,000 baht, surely? Doubt that anyone will be too happy about financing an 80,000 baht pick-up.

I think that's his 10% deposit he is talking about

Toyota have a 0% finance deal on Vigo & Vios, spotted the posters outside two Toyota dealers Friday on a run up to Phetchabun, Route 21.

Plus on Thai TV Ford showing advertisements for a 48 month deal on Rangers, think that was 0% finance too.

I meant your residency/visa/work permit status

Sorry, how does having land help? I financed a bike, 200k Baht, and a pickup 800k baht in the past and needed to assure the finance company of a monthly income. Mine is from the UK so it was a little complicated. Had to finance in the Mrs name with me paying,.

Once the fist vehicle was paid off, a few years ago now, my Mrs had good credit, but no job, which is an issue.

It is pretty discretionary, we clicked with the finance rep and have contacts at Kawasaki and Isuzu showrooms who know us well ( Bought 4 new vehicles in 7 years) now. If your starting from scratch I advise getting friendly with the staff and being able to show a flow of money coming in monthly is pretty mandatory. Good luck.

If possible, I would rather not discus the ins and outs of if I can get finance or not, this is not really why I posted , I already have this sorted, this post was more aimed at trying to find good deals and for which makes/models however as you do, we do have a friend in the toyota and ford showrooms in Maha Sarakham which will help,

Woops, missed a 0 heh thanks for pointing that out

I see, it would technically be under my girlfriends name however she has good credit,

Thanks for the info anyway guys I will go have a gander sometime this week at models, fiesta would be great for bombing around Bangkok but not ideal for long runs,

Cheers All

Teisco finance is a good company but being a foreigner you need to put down a good size deposit, for example I have bank statements for 3 years in this country and a marriage visa and it still wasn't easy.

I had to put 30 percent down a v cross Isuzu.

Thanks for your replies,

So your in effect buying this car for your girlfriend's father. As when she kicks you out, daddy is already on the paperwork for the car loan and of course, you have already generously already put the car in the ex-girlfriends name. Expect this to occur within a couple months of the vehicle being paid off. :)

I wonder how many times they've used this piece of land to scam cars off gullible farangs?

Getting a good finance deal on a 4x4 is much harder than a 4x2 - I'm surprised they are even offering such a low down payment (10%)..

There's plenty of options outside of just Toyota and Ford:

Mitsubishi Triton double cab 4x4 - 797K - 967K

Chevy Colorado double cab 4x4 - 808K -998K

Isuzu D-Max double cab 4x4 - 828K - 992K

Toyota Hilux double cab 4x4 - 842K - 1,012K

Ford Ranger doube cab 4x4 - 899K - 1,109K

Nissan Navara double cab 4x4 - 934K - 974K

Mazda BT-50 double cab 4x4 - 948K - 993K
