So many expensive local authority projects start, stop and then disappear. Do you remember the hundreds of green-painted frames that were erected throughout Pattaya? They were an eyesore, especially as whatever grew in, around and through them became neglected and rampant. They seem to have disappeared now.

Driving along Beach Road this morning and seeing the bare and unsightly promenade from the Dusit Resort to Pattaya Klang, I wondered whatever happened to the project meant to relocate the power and telephone cable spaghetti underground and beautify Beach Road. The conduits were laid (eventually) but the cables remain as a blight on Beach Road. Does anybody know?

Dunno what happened to the underground cables on Beach Road, probably too difficult to put the cables in the conduits.

But in place of the green climbing frames we now have strange futeristic structures along the beach at Jomtien with what looks like a polycarbonate sail inside a frame, what ever are they for?

Are you sure?

I wondered about that but how fast can a pavement move even in a force 4?

The top and bottom of this so to speak is that someone has made a fortune from this masquerade. After putting up with the inconvenience and dangerous `building site` along Beach Rd for what seemed like an eternity we were looking forward to a wonderful fresh and picturesque promenade....but what have we got...

...we`ve got half finished dangerous footpaths large expanses of nothing....polystyrene dolphins which are falling to pieces....and still the wires...

Where has the money gone??
