yingluck is becoming rather tenacious in her ability to impel and attain Apophenia upon others. People's brains have an unfortunate tendency to see what they expect to see, and only notice what they want to see. Once somebody enters into a certain model of reality, a perceptual filter kicks in where they notice more and more "FACTS" that appear to reinforce their chosen beliefs, and they ignore any conflicting information that comes along, so they become more and more convinced of the correctness of their beliefs.

​With the PTP and the UDD having such a fear of facts this was a necessary ability for yingluck to acquire.

In this case the splattering of "uphold democracy" and "yingluck" throughout the OP marries the words together and assumes an identity that makes it a "FACT" that without yingluck democracy in Thailand will fail. The majority know that could not be further from the truth and in fact all the principles of democracy will flourish without her, but this fact has to be repressed for the other Apophenia "FACT". The OTHER "true" conflicting fact is ignored after a while due to the constant reinforcement of their "chosen" belief.

Some could suggest like a cult leader with his "flock" or in this case Nattawut and Jatuporn with theirs.

Many leaders around the world have resigned when they have determined they have failed their constituents. Yingluck should do the same. It has nothing to do with democracy.

They were inconclusive because the electoral process was disrupted by Suthep and his gangs. She is currently the Prime Minister because she was the last person to be elected to that post. When (if) the election is completed another person may be elected to the post. If however she is forced from office by other means, she will remain the last elected Prime Minister. The people who voted for her, and the wider international community, will continue to regard her as such.

Not for much longer!

Yingluck will only stand down, when either her brother allows her to do so (which will not happen in this life) or when she is fired/dismissed via a court verdict. The past 2 years and especially the past 3, 4 months have shown, that she is so scared of her brother, that she doesn't even dare to decide on her own. Any other stand-in-person would have quit before getting stomach ulcers.

And another thing: When was the last regular cabinet meeting? Even for a caretaker government there need to be meetings at cabinet level, normally at least once every week. That looks to me as if she isn't able to get this organized (even though she would not have to do the organizing herself). Are some of the ministers etc. already jumping ship? I would not be astonished. After all, there is no common believe, that holds the PTP politicians together, only the prospect of making more money. When they think, that there is more money to be made without Taksin, they will disassociate without much fuss. Actually I think these politicians aren't interested in getting Taksin back to Thailand at all, as they would have to split the loot with him.

Caretaker or not, there is actually no governing happening for the time being. Yingluck and her closest circle are concentrating all their effort on two things and don't bother for the rest of "running Thailand": for one, they want to reduce, suppress or eliminate the threat from the demonstrations and for two they need to find sources of fresh money to placate the rice farmers.

How dire the situation has become is obvious from Yingluck using - among all other alternatives - Facebook to adress the people, inside and outside Thailand! Can anybody imagine a Mrs Merkel or the PM of Australia using Facebook as the main channel of communicating? Fat chance! Facebook and such stuff is used by politicians to attract U25 voters but not to issue statements for the general population. Nobody in the West would be taken serious, if he/she only uses facebook.

The increased violence against the protesters (regardless of which 'faction' is actually responsible) is another indicator of how desperate Yingluck and her group have become. It is like the last battle before defeat, when you try anything in the hope of changing the fortune. In 1945 Adolf H. sent out 16-year-old pupils, right out of the classrooms, to stop the Russian tanks with simple rifles.

There has been the fear, that even after the fall of Taksin & Co. there would be massive opposition against any new leadership, but I think as soon as there is nothing gained any more from following Taksin & Co, most people will stop following the red shirt leaders. Even now the red shirt leaders are not in a position to provide the money to pay the farmers their rice. And Taksin will certainly not spend a single Baht to pay for the rice. He didn't build his fortune from wasting (!) his money on farmers.

So in the end Yingluck will of course stay until the last possible moment, but when this moment is, is no more her decision. And it will be soon.

to leave would be to admit to be forced out by a small band of nasty thugs by using fear and intimidation , and the overthrow of democracy by Sutheps terrorists
