I am looking into importing a new Dodge Challenger from the US....

  • Does anyone have previous experience of importing a new car?
  • If so can you give any advice about shipping cost/companies?
  • Does any one know how to deal with the import tax and how much is charged?

I think the general concensus from mutliple threads on this topic is:

Don't even think to do it - the import taxes and duty are very high (like 200%+)

More than 3000cc or more than 220 hp, then import duties = 328% of CIF.

Thank you very much everyone. 328% import tax is beyond retarded. I would ride a bicycle before I pay that amount of tax! Looks like I will have to stick to driving the CRV!
