The VFW is a veterans service organization of U.S. veterans helping veterans, spouses and dependent children. The VFW assists U.S. vet's with VA, FMP, and Tricare claims, old and new. We assist U.S. vets spouses and dependent children with survivor benefits and strive to make sure all get what they are entitled to. The forming of this post is in the early stages and may take some time to get the required membership total. If interested in becoming a member or renewing/transfering your old membership, attend the 1st of hopefully many meetings on Monday, 17 March, 2014 at 10:00am to noon at the Lai Thong Hotel, 50 Pichitransan Rd in Ubon. The meeting room is in the lobby area to the left of the reception desk. If you have a copy of your DD 214, bring it with you. The DD 214 will be used for verification of eligibility. I would like to thank the Outside Inn, Peppers, T&C Kitchen, N Joy, Wrong Way and the Lia Thong Hotel for their support. They allowed me to display a sign in their establishment telling about the meeting to organize a VFW Post here in Ubon. They are at the top of my favorites list, again thank you.

The first meeting to form a U.S. Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post here in the Ubon (Issan region) was held Monday 17

March. Had 9 people in attendance which is ok for the first meeting. Hopefully the numbers will increase as the months

go by. Currently the meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of each month. The next meeting will be the 21st of April,

10:00 - 12:00 at the Lai Thong Hotel lobby meeting room. Hope to see more new faces at this meeting.
