Honda Website

Featured Replies

What is it with Thai websites? some parts in English, other parts in Thai,

are they designed so that no one can understand them?

IMO the Honda website has to be the worst,

The navigation buttons on the top are in english, so if you don't read English you are screwed.

to the left of them there is an English/Thai option, when I chose English , I think it gives me an English web page but many sections are in Thai, so I don't know what they mean, Also they are input as images, so Google will not translate them.

Anyway, I click on Specifications and standard equipment, but the list is always in Thai.

Can anyone provide me with a link to a list of Specifications and standard equipment for the Honda City that is in english?

Thank you

that is for the older model of the City. The recently released City specs are still in thai.

Do you know if there were any significant changes other than cosmetic?

Correct, the new 2014 City model will have:

A completely different CVT gearbox.

Completely new body style and interior.

Keyless start button.

50mm longer wheel base and 30cm larger turning circle.

Compatible to use E85.

Rear drum brakes (as opposed to rear discs on the older model.)

Engine has 3HP less than the older model.

Plastic as opposed to cast alloy inlet manifold.(cheaper & lighter)

VSA standard on all new City models.

Automatic climate control A/c with rear a/c vents.

P.S not sure when they will be available at the showrooms.

Not complaining that the site is in Thai, quite the opposite, I think the Thai websites have way to many parts in English. Thais who do not read English would not understand them.

on the other side

The English version has too many parts in Thai, and english speaking people who do not read Thai also have problem understanding them.

Both are not user friendly.

IMO the purpose of a website is to facilitate an increase in sales. If Iwas the head of the IT dept. of Honda, I would look at the website and think to myself, Hey the specks on the English version is in Thai, and people who don't read Thai will not be able to read them and my opt to buy a car by a company who's specks they can read,

Maybe we should write them in English.
