Defiant Kotee challenges Army chief's separation movement ban

BANGKOK: -- Red-shirt hardliner Kotee yesterday defied the Army chief’s curb on separation movement by placing a huge banner at the pedestrian overpass on Vibhavada Rangsit road in Don Muang.

The banner which coves almost the full length of the pedestrian reads “ If this country has no justice, Gu and Mung…better separate the country.”

Gu is an impolite word used to represent “I” while Muang is “You”

The banner was signed by “Kotee of the red shirt guard of Pathumthan”.

Kotee or Putthipong Kochathammakun, a hardcore red-shirt leader in Pathum

Thani, admitted that he ordered the banner to be placed at the pedestrian overpass in Don Muang yesterday after he felt that the red-shirt people were unfairly treated by the Army chief.

As far as he followed news about the red-shirt movement, he felt that the Army chief Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha has treated the red-shirts unfairly particularly when he announced to take action against red-shirt people if they have different views.

But on the contrary, he said, the People’s Democratic Reform Committee held anti-government protest for months and breached the law on several occasions. Insurrection charge was pressed, but nothing has been taken against the PDRC leaders.

Inaction by the army was considered unfair for the red-shirt people who also are the people of this country too, he said.
He also said that the separation banner placed in Don Muang was just a symbolic protest and just to reflect injustice and inequality in this society.

Kotee then asked the Army chief why he has to be so frustrated with just a normal vinyl banner while he did nothing to tackle those rebels.

“Is this a justice,” he asked.

Kotee earlier announced on a community radio station which he runs calling on the red-shirt people to kidnap Mah-Gen Wara Boonyasit, commander of the First Division of the Royal Guards, and Col Songwit Noonpakdi, commander of the 11thInfantry Regiment.

His threat prompted the Army to come out to escalate to take legal action against him and also to find out if he was also responsible for the past violent cases.

During the skirmishes in Don Muang before the February 2 election, he also was reported to lead red-shirt hardcore members to confront anti-government protesters led by Luang Poo Buddha-issara at Laksi intersection.

After the skirmishes, he reportedly fled into Cambodia on what he called being man-hunted by armed elements manipulated by the military.

So does Kotee expect Thailand to cede Pathum Thani and have the border right there in Bangkok with him and his motorcycle gang in power?

If it ever happened people like him would have to choose between prison in Thailand or relocating to the North, assuming the Northerners wanted him. The leadership of the red shirts, most of whom are from the South (many are Chinese to boot) are also anomalies. If citizenship rules for Lanna were strict, they would also have to stay in the South where they are not very popular with their own people.

Deary me.

Yingluck and Red Shirts are not on the same hymn sheet.

Has Kikoman seen this?

I agree, they are not on the same hymn sheet. Which is why I've always thought this obsession with Thaksin people have is ridiculous. The red shirts clearly are different groups with their own agendas.

kikoman . . . here's some of your "documented facts" . . . your "pro-Democracy" side just don't know when to keep their mouths shut.

No No it's been incorrectly interpreted whistling.gif

Ah yes, the usual PT/Thaksin/UDD cry ...

"we didn't say that"

"we didn't do that"

"we didn't mean that"

"you misinterpreted"

"you're biased"

"we don't agree with that"

Funny how you "rarely" hear ANYONE else say these things except the pro-Govt side.

If the red shirts, as Thida has said are against separating the country, they better reign him in. Don't cry about it later if the Army is forced to something about/to him because this fella is asking for it,

i see that you are overlooking the unlawful acts of blocking polling stations and polling registration. i think it was Sutheps followers illegal acts that Kotee was referring to that the army was overlooking. besides you just keep brining up what the red shirts do wrong to justify what Sutheps Id#$&*s are doing.

Sutheps just show is political difference with government, Reds show there wish to separate from the country and try to drive country to civil war.....

In laksi accident Kotee always said he was not on the scene, but a lot of picture show him, some in a police van

" The banner which coves almost the full length of the pedestrian reads “ If this country has no justice, Gu and Mung…better separate the country. "

This is the UDD. Call for separation, threaten the kidnapping of army personnel on red shirt radio, instigate violence on the streets of Bangkok, and then retreat to Cambodia. Then return, deny involvement in all those things, say you were not serious, go back to red shirt radio, and then start all over again and erect a banner of secession. Now that Yingluck and Chalerm are private citizens, do they have any revisionist thoughts on the presence of this movement ?

once again we see how simplistic the reds are, they cannot understand that the protesters were working within their constitutional rights by protesting because the reds disagreed with what they wanted but the reds then decide to call for seperation which is against the constitution and complain it isnt fair. All this does is show the world that the reds simply want everything their way and no one else has any rights, it really does show how stupid and pathetic they really are.

Once again we see how simplistic certain posters on this forum are , when they either deliberately, or because of some learning/reading disability, cannot determine the actions of one man separately to the views of the entire movement of the UDD. It's even written down for you in black and white

Of course it's a lot easier to further your agenda if you feign ignorance, although I'm not sure that you're pretending.
