Formalities for selling my motorcycle

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I wish to sell my Honda Phantom which I have had since new. I have the green book and original bill of sale.

Is there any specific formalities that I need to fulfill, such as notifying the new purchaser details to any official department etc?

Thanks

Edited - oops! I thought I'd posted this under the motor cycle section. Perhaps the mods could move it.

It will somewhat differ depending on the province you live in

but here is my list that should cover most eventualities.

You should make a sales receipt for the new buyer with thier signiture and keep a copy for yourself along with a copy of their ID

to proove that you sold it as there is no ( to my knowledge ) procedure to notify change of ownership by the seller.

ie you could give the new owner all the required documents but they don't ( quite a few dont ) bother to go to the

DLT and register in thier name.

Thai seller
Signed copy of ID card front and back ( not expired )
Signed copy of house registration ( not allways required )
signed " nungsue moub umnart " หนังสือมอบอำนาจ ( if seller is not going with you to DLT )
signed "beb kum kor own le rup own " แบบคำขอโอนและรับโอน ขส.บ. ท. - 11
greeen/ blue book signed by current owner

Foreigner seller needs
certificate of residence from immigration or embassy ( should be free at immigration but varies from place to place )
copy passport photo page
copy of visa page and or extension ( not expired )
signed " nungsue moub umnart " หนังสือมอบอำนาจ ( if seller is not going with you to DLT )
signed "beb kum kor own le rup own " แบบคำขอโอนและรับโอน ขส.บ. ท. - 11
green/blue book signed by current owner

For foreign seller, in stead of certificate of residence also workpermit or yellow housebook is accepted.

Thanks stevenl,

I've added that to my list thumbsup.gif
