PHUKET: -- The illegal dumping of garbage in Rawai, first reported in The Phuket News just under a year ago has gotten progressively worse, with the land owner saying he’s finding it impossible to stop people from dumping rubbish on his land.

Khon Kaen prepares campaign to reduce daily accidents during Songkran

KHONKAEN, 11 March 2014 (NNT) - Khonkaen province is preparing a prevention of road accidents campaign to reduce the daily death toll during Songkran Festival 2014 The Chumpae District Chief Officer, Mr. Artit Ponkhunwong, together with the committee of government agencies and the secretary of the Khon Kaen Road Safety Directing Center, convened the first Committee meeting for Security and Order Khon Kaen 2014, on 30th January.

He reported the result of the prevention of accident campaign in 2013 and presented a monthly report for December 2013.

Moreover, the causes of accidents and guidelines for prevention were presented during the meeting. However, the Chumpae District Chief Officer requested the chiefs of government sectors and officials from agencies involved, have further discussions to develop future guidelines and safety measures.

BANGKOK, March 11 - Thai authorities on Tuesday revealed that the missing Malaysian Airlines' Beijing-bound tickets of two imposters travelling with passports stolen in Thailand were booked by an Iranian and paid by a Thai woman.
