wilcopops
It's fairly obvious the JC is out of control, and the Beeb are in a quandary. Someone KNEW about the numberplate, and I guess is the JC knew was instrumental or tacitly agreed to the exercise.Or it's equally obvious that the Argentinians have got their knickers in a twist over nothing. It's not as if it's a fake number plate. It's real and belongs to a grey Porsche. Are you suggesting that the BBC scoured the 2nd hand car sales to find that number plate? I'm suggesting the numberplate was included on purpose, whether or not it was bought for the car, with the car, or the car was noticed to have this plate is something that I'm sure will become clear later. "According to the grey Porsche’s history, it changed its registration to H1 VAE for a three-year period before 2001 and then reverted back to H982 FKL. The fact that the Top Gear team was travelling with the old plate, by now assigned to another vehicle, will add to suspicion that the BBC team realised that the original registration was contentious. Veterans groups in Argentina have described the plate as “a mockery to us all”. Independent .... the question you have to ask is why were they carrying two sets of registration plates? Porsche equals ...private plate. TWO plates???? - They had TWO sets of plates, whether or not one set was a "special" is irrelevant - the car had an old personalised number that the crew appear to have brought with them.....WHY? because they knew the legal plate was offensive? What is a "jap driver?" Do you think this is 1946? Your mind is still corrupted by WWII propaganda? Also, your story is highly improbable. After living 16 years in Japan I can tell you the chances of any Japanese driver spontaneously yelling such words at you is less than 1:100,000,000. And for several reasons. First, very few Japanese speak fluent English. Secondly, the scenario you describe does not fit Japanese culture -- it's much more like American culture. In short, I seriously doubt the veracity of your story, mainly due to your overtly racist "jap" remark. But they replaced earlier words, racialism (1871) and racialist (1917), both often used early 20c. in a British or South African context. In the U.S., race hatred, race prejudice had been used, and, especially in 19c. political contexts, negrophobia.

3NUMBAS
Top Gear and BBC accused of number plate scandal cover up – Daily TV round-up Car dealer sold the show other sets of number plates.Ben Arnold – 9 hours ago Jeremy Clarkson and the BBC's 'Top Gear' have been accused of a cover up over the growing Falklands number plate scandal. It's claimed that the show makers were planning to film a joke stunt using alternative registration plates in the forthcoming special show, filmed in South America.Clarkson and his team have come under intense scrutiny after it emerged that plates fixed to a Porsche contained the letters H982 FKL – thought to be a reference to the British war with Argentina in 1982.Clarkson has told how they were set upon by an angry mob who 'wanted to kill them' over the plates, and had to hide under a bed in their hotel, describing it as a 'terrifying experience'.They were then forced to flee for the border with Chile. Clarkson has so far insisted that the lettering on the number plate was a complete coincidence. But a car dealer who sold sets of plates to the BBC for the show, including a set featuring the letters 'BE11 END', has said that he 'can't comment' on the matter, drawing accusations that he has been gagged over the scandal. https://uk.tv.yahoo.com/top-gear-and-bbc-accused-of-number-plate-scandal-cover-up-%E2%80%93-daily-tv-round-up-093528027.html
rametindallas
Nothing ridiculous about it. You're the one who introduced oppression and victimization into this argument. I just gave examples to show the stupidity and ignorance of that. Racial ethnic slurs happen against ALL races and all ethnicities, whether they've been oppressed or not, though many races/ethnicities have been oppressed at one time or another. Your ridiculous assumption that racial slurs only occur against certain groups like blacks or Asians was proven wrong yet you're so blinded by liberalism that you seem to think only whites are racist. Again, another fallacy. There're slurs or epithets for everyone. Whites use them against blacks and vice-versa. Asians use them against whites and vice-versa. It's not the domain of one group to use or be responsible for this type of language. Nothing '18th century' about that. But I probably think you have your centuries confused if you're trying to point out what I think you are. You'd be better off finding real racism with the likes of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton or Eric Holder than someone like Jeremy Clarkson. Suzuki GSX-R1000 L3 182 hp in-line 4 Superbike Now you are showing your abysmal ignorance. The issue is not what constitutes an ethnic slur. The issue is the nature of racism, and the fact that it can only be used as a weapon by a dominant ethnic group against an oppressed group. Since you are incapable of understanding this simple reality, it is futile to discuss the issue with you. You may now continue your clueless sojourn in the fog of ignorance. Over and out. So as a white person, I can go anywhere in the world have no fear that I will be abused in any way because I am white? White people are never targets for discrimination? White people can be the target for all sorts of things, but they can never experience what it means to be an oppressed underclass lorded over by an inhumane dominant class with a false sense of superiority. they can never experience what it means to be an oppressed underclass lorded over by an inhumane dominant class with a false sense of superiority I guess you've never lived in Thailand or Japan, then.
