MRTA to go ahead with purple and blue line extension

The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) has announced plans to move ahead with its construction of the purple and blue line extension, in order to alleviate public travel costs in an era of rising oil prices.

Mrs. Ancharee Chawanit (อัญชลี ชวนิตย์), chairman of the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) adminstration, revealed that the MRTA will move ahead with plans to build the purple line extension from Bang Yhai-Bang Siu (บางใหญ่-บางซื่อ), and the blue line from Hualampong-Tha Phra-Bang Care (หัวลำโพง-ท่าพระ-บางแค).

Mrs. Ancharee stated that the MRTA was fully prepared to handle the project in all aspects, including reclamation of conflicted property. The cabinet has approved the project, and construction bids will be held soon.

Taoism: shit happens

Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit

Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah

Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it

Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us?

Atheism: I don't believe this shit

Where can I find a map of this? Perhaps the others too...

Well the Blue line is the Piccadilly, the Purple one is the Metropolitan line.

In London, that is. :D

Why can't the Thai's be more imaginative in their naming?? :o

Can we start planning a Thaivisa piss-up for the inaugural run on June 2, 2016?

A bit optimistic perhaps? :o

^Dunno.

Why couldn't the British be more imaginative in their naming?

I guess that we thought it was already quite imaginative, building the first underground/urban railway network, in the world ? And decided to leave the naming-innovation to the Johnny-come-latelies . :o

unfortunately, the facilities there didnt improve since these times :D

The big question for MRTA is of course: " Where is the money coming from"!!!! - Believe it when it happens :o:D:D

Any news of the Orange line (to Bang Kapi, via Ramekamaeng University). It was supposed to be started in 2005 and since then no info whatsoever..? :o

It was scrapped from the plans under Thaksin already.

Waerth

hand of that evil Thaksin is in everything ! :o

Spot on ! :D

This was an example of his declared and very enlightened policy, to not spend any government money, on towns or provinces which voted against TRT. What a splendid way to run a banana republic 'democracy'.

Whatever happened to the dear fellow ? :D
