BANGKOK: -- A home office of the former deputy secretary-general of the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr Suporn Attawong, in Koraburi district of Nakhon Ratchasima province was attacked before dawn by unknown number of gunmen wielding assault rifles.

The home was also used as a coordination center of the ruling Pheu Thai party by former MP Sampas Attawong.

Suporn, widely known as “Rambo Esarn” was not in the house when it was attacked by gunmen at about 3.00 a.m. Friday.

The glass pane of the house and ceiling were riddled with almost 50 bullet holes.

Occupants in the house told police this morning that gunshots were heard at about 3.00 a.m. and they rushed out to inspect the gunshot sound. The glass panes and ceiling of the home office were damaged.

Pol Col Pralong Chob-ngam said political conflict is the most probable motive to the attack.

does anyone else get the feeling this is a red selfie, bullet holes in the ceiling so they were shooting in the air not low where people would be and he wasnt even there. Strange that yesterday he started to complain about the protesters and that night someone shoots his ceiling, definitely, a selfie knowing the reds to get some sympathy, fail.

The, ahem, "selfie" is the time-tested, time-honoured motivator.

We've seen a few fine examples of it already.

Means, opportunity, qui bono and evidentiary trail etc are time-honoured investigative threads we use to sort it all out.

This head transplant HAS TO be settled in a civilized manor.

Wild-eyed maniacs playing silly-baggers in the operating theatre during this intricate procedure will wreck any chances for a decent outcome.

A selfie to justify more violent actions by Suporn and his group of thugs. Or it could be a rival group of reds as a result of the power struggle that resulted in the ousting of Thida. Jatuporn has his own factions and favorites, including Suporn and Kwanchai, who are more violent than the ones favoured by Thida. The closer you are to the leadership of PT and the red shirts, the more money rubs off on you. You also receive better co-operation from red police for your criminal activities.

There will be an arrest of a PDRC security guard in the next few days who will "admit" that it was him and he was paid 300 baht a day to do so. Chalerm will be in the photo shoot.

If the guard pulls down his trousers, you may see his testicles blackened from the electrodes.

Maybe a couple rounds went off when his minions were distributed the unregistered firearms from the arsenal in his home.555

"It's disgusting that none of these attackers got the proper training from any of the police or CAPO officers"

This Chalerm wil bring to the NACC, because someone needs to be sued over this.

Cheers, just got some new ear drops

So when it is an act of violence on a person who is in or is pro government, it is a red shirt who commits it and when it is violence against the protestors it is the red shirts who commit it. I think I need to drink the same water as you guys or is it a special pair of specs you guys wear? Oh well, keep kidding yourself guys, you keep me amused for 5 minutes a day.

That line will be in direct response to the Red Shirt calls of "The Yellows shot/bombed their own to get sympathy" calls we hear everytime one of the Anti-government protesters get shot at/grenades thrown at them.

Personally i think this is a game of tit-for-tat - the reds attack the yellows, the yellows attack the reds...

... but it could be all staged to garner more sympathy for the cause... who knows? Doubtful we will ever find out the real reasons.

It only takes a limited amount of intelligence to see what is going on here.

A. As thick as a brick

B. Paid not to

C. Evil, blackhearted monsters

Selfie or not, these people were very lucky, ricochets could easily have sent these rounds anywhere, I guess most people are also unaware that the glass in itself would also cause the rounds to divert from their aimed trajectory.. especially if they're firing at an angle, and also depending on the glass itself.

Sounds like it was a spray and pray act, shooting like a fud from the hip. Hmmm if I was going to do selfies, I'd be picking my best people to shoot at me, and fire aimed shots, that way you have less of a risk of being hit, I'd probably also make sure that there would of course be nobody at home at the time too .. but then again, I'm just using applied logic, something many "unknown shooters" don't use ;)

They're all, and that's ALL, as in PTP/UDD/Dems/PDRC at a club in Bangkok, drinking Jack Daniels smoking Cuban Cigars and reading all the comments on TVF and having a right good laugh at the farangs who know more about Thailand, Thai policies, Thai culture etc than they do tongue.png

Most likely some of his latest trainees, still in the 'this how to aim' stage of their training.

Citizen Chalerm's son Duang ought to have been involved in training, since he's good with a gun.

"The incident happened in 2001. Now it is 2012 and Ai Puad has yet to be found. Meanwhile, Mr Duang has recently been appointed to the Royal Thai Police force as a deputy inspector of the bureau’s training centre. One of his duties is to teach shooting. The irony."

Yes, way, way too suspicious. Holes in the ceiling indeed!

If the house was on a slight rise above the road, so that the shooters had to shoot in an upward direction to pierce the windows, the scenario is certainly plausible. We just don't know, do we? Think, people! coffee1.gif

I,m thinking.....what if the gunmen were of the vertically-challenged genre ? Didn't the Japanese use midget subs once ?
