geriatrickid
2 issues that are paramount; Cargo - Did it cause a catastrophic fire or breach in the airplane structure? Metal Fatigue- Did MAS undertake the multiple service repairs including to the wiring and to the aircraft skin that were subject to warnings and advisories? If this is an issue of improper or unsafe cargo shipping or of inadequate maintenance, the airline could suffer heavily, including being pushed into bankruptcy. In the buffet of bad options, a pilot suicide or a hijacking will do less damage to the profits than the cargo and metal fatigue scenarios. Pax will accommodate a lot of things, but safety and unsafe cargo potential can destroy an airline's market position.

chooka
Found nothing yet - all speculation !! The search area for the missing Malaysia Airlines plane will shift to an area 1100 kilometres north-east of the previous location, following the "most credible lead" so far. http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/2014/03/28/14/22/search-for-missing-mh370-flight-shifts

coma
New radar data analysis has prompted authorities to re-focus the six-nation search 1100km to the northeast of its original location, and some 1850km west of Perth, following updated advice from the international investigation team in Malaysia. Surely the Australian over the horizon radar would have picked up this aircraft if it was only 1850km from Perth. So why are they only coming out with this information now ? http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/2014/03/28/11/55/search-resumes-for-missing-mh370

The location now conceivably is very far away from where anything started out. I'm pretty sure that they haven't moved planes and ships expecting to somehow see whatever debris is sitting on the ocean floor however many thousands of feet down. The only chance of finding the debris on the ocean floor, other than blind luck, is to find various patches of debris then try to estimate a common point where they likely originated from.
